The problem they’ve got is that both of them have to appeal to a narrow right wing agenda that most of the population wouldn’t support.

Not so sure about that tbh , the population have allowed them to **** on our services especially the NHS even the ones heavily dependent on it .
They’ll use the immigration scare tactic aided and abetted by their friends in the media and everything will be forgiven as they did with austerity .

The candidates certainly don't seem to have a problem at all so far.

The zeal to lurch even further right is extraordinary. Whoever gets in power, I doubt they'll be too keen to undo all the nonsense they've spouted so far.

I know Labour didn't hold a GE when Brown ousted Blair, but I really do think that a GE should be called if a PM is deposed or steps down midterm.

It'll be worth watching to witness Liz truss's debating abilities' she's dynamite.it was amazing to watch the last one where they all said between them what had gone wrong in the last 12 years which was pretty much everything' it was like they were completely oblivious to the fact that the tories had been in power all that time..

Does anyone believe that BBC employee Sophie Rayworth will give either a difficult time?

there’s a growing petition amongst Tory members to put bozo on the ballot paper apparently. These 2 don’t even appeal to there own membership. Utterly bonkers

Even under the dark days of Thatcher there was never such a feeling of hopelessness as I feel right now with this lot. They have been in charge 12 years and just look at the state of the country and its' services - everything has been run into the ground. I just cannot understand how people can vote for these useless, vicious pi*****s !!

I don't understand why this is on prime time TV. It's an election that c. 150,000 people can vote in. If the aim is to provide information to the people who can vote in the election then it doesn't warrant being on prime time. If the aim is to provide information about the candidates to the wider public then surely opposition parties have a right to equivalent air time.

It imploded in 2016 when the public believed the lies spouted by the ultra-right and their masters who own 90% of our media. No need to name them as we all know who they are.

It's Barnsley vs Derby this. Sunak wanting debts paid off ASAP against Truss who's not worrying right now and will start thinking about it in three years.

More like Sheff Weds v Sheff Utd. Two slightly different subsets of ***** who I wish could both lose.

Have to say, Sunak certainly hasn’t done himself any favours over how he repeatedly speaks over women.

It’s one of the most surreal hours of tv programming I’ve seen for some time.
