As always it's a last minute thing to get out. Like most material whether it be for building materials, fuel, electric things have vastly escalated. So here's the thing ..........

It used to cost me £400-450 (depending on print numbers) before we made a round coin for charity.

Printing costs have gone up on average 50%.....
So do I get it printed and pay it at the possibility of making nowt for charity, or put price up to £2.50 (from £2) and risk f oo king folk off and been worse off?!? It's good to go for Cheltenham at home first game.

Never wanted it to be be a labour of love. The original ethos was to raise money for charitable causes.

    You're opinions are genuinely welcome.

Make it £3. It's for charity so I don't think you'll get too many complaining. (I've said that before though on here and been wrong so you might want to ignore me :D) Make sure the sellers know the reason the price has increased.

Price increase to £2.50 wouldn't concern me. I think there's a huge amount of goodwill been generated from the videos, etc so we know it'll be good for a laugh.

Gladly pay £2.50 or even £3 as suggested.

£3 is more than fair I reckon.

Could you also make a digital version maybe, and totally by pass a lot of the printing costs?

    Could hopefully "make more"

That's the way I'd go too. Save costs, save trees, save ink. Charge what meets your charitable donations target.

I'm with others @Cunning Stunt - I'd gladly pay £3. I'd also support a digital version in the future and would probably subscribe were it an option which would enable your forward planning I guess?

I do get where you're all coming from regards a digital option, I really do. Like I said in my OP I never wanted to do it as a labour of love. So no sponsors, adverts etc. Too much time to even make it viable with people's time and effort.

One of the reasons that WSB stopped was for the exact same reasons. That's why I stayed away from the things that dragged us down.

May have to reavaluate. I'll see.

Thanks for your continued support. Appreciated.

I would look in to the possibilities of setting it up as a subscription service or something similar and pinging it out on e-mail. No print costs, £5 every four issues, direct debit, delivered on e-mail, and then people all over the world can sign up for it. I reckon you'd get to 1,000 subscribers fairly quickly and grow from there, as those supporters who haven't stepped foot in Oakwell for close to ten years would still sign up. Hopefully.

Less focus on flying vans and look at the above. Jesting of course.

I'd definitely look at producing a digital version. Many of the reasons for this have already been mentioned, but the most relevant to me is that I never have any cash anymore. Like ever.

10 quid subscription for 5 digital publications seems a lot easier for all concerned, more profit and no standing outside flogging fanzines during the 9 months of the football season which is basically 9 months of winter.

Would get Matt on the case. Be easy for him to figure out.

Various Google searches of 'automated subscription service' show options for taking payments. Just needs to be linked in with something that would also store the e-mail addresses and then attach the Fanzine at the click of a button.

I will definitely subscribe to a digital version. Never yet seen it on sale outside the ground, approaching via Oakwell Lane and South car park.
