https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-62330478 Sadly, his name will be trending on Twitter today for the reason that everyone feared, whenever it used to happen. Loved his character in The Railway Children, but what a career, RIP
Remembered by us oldies for so many things... The Railway children, two novelty records -' Right said Fred' and 'Hole in the Ground' Dr Who (two eras) Fawlty Towers, Carry ons and many other films, childrens TV including the long running Jackanory. An incredibly diverse career. Like many comedians he was a great straight actor too witnessed in the final scenes of the Tennant era of Dr Who. RIP Bernard!
Wasn't he the voice over for that fishing program ( can't remember it's name ) someone called Chris was in it
When Leslie Thomas's stories of "Dangerous Davies - The Last Detective" first appeared on TV Bernard Cribbins played Dangerous in a feature length version. I preferred Peter Davison in the part and the newer version ran over several series.
Anybody remember him in Two Way Stretch with Peter Sellers, Lionel Jeffrey and Irene Handle? Brilliant jail house comedy crime caper.
