Genuine question and not a knee jerk reaction to a loss.

is he actually any good? Not seen him do anything productive or have a decent game for ages!

He did a interview before Hungary played England and said he was going. Possible Premier League. I cant see why anyone would want him. If hes that good he should be running a midfield in League One.

The lads a myth. Wing back, midfield, passer, tackler, tempo setter. What is he………..

A left wing back. A position he hardly plays anymore

Massively overrated by fans and worse than that, by himself.

Had one good season at wing back in a year that Callum Brittain also had a good season ding the same job.

If we're judging by actions - yesterday he wasn't very good.

If he was any good someone would have signed him by now. We’ve not even had a bid.

I think he's been class for Hungary on the bits I've watched. And I'd sooner have him in our team than not. Don't see why we have to get on his back just because he's ambitious.

Hasn't had a good game since Val left. Our most overated player in years. If you like attacking players who hardly ever score or set up goals and is slow then he's your man.

Very overrated in my opinion ! Done absolutely nothing since val left. In fact he was poor the last 10 games of val season . Not sure who can replace him though.
I thought Wolfe did more in his cameo than all the midfielders put together yesterday.

I'm a big fan of his and was pleased when he got moved into midfield thinking that he could have more influence on games but it clearly hasn't worked.
His performances at left wing back under Val were outstanding though.

Not enough pace to play wingback and not enough guile to play centre midfield but should surely be able to do a job for us in league one.

He’s a left wing back nothing else. I can’t recall a single game when he’s played in the middle of the park where I though he’s run the show. The game passes him by and I’m struggling to see what his attributes are playing in the middle. He doesn’t drive us forward, doesn’t win many 2nd balls, no physicality and doesn’t create anything. Yesterday he had several opportunities to turn on the ball and move us forward but was content with taking no risk and passing backwards at the first opportunity. He clearly doesn’t want to be here and it’s showing in his application it’s best for all involved that we move him on quickly. I’d much rather see Wolfe start ahead of him in the middle.

He doesn't want to be here and stopped giving a toss some time ago the sooner he's gone the better, problem is nobody is prepared to pay good money for him given his recent performances for us.

Like others have said too lightweight for the middle and the games just pass him by even though in his own words this is his preferred position.
I think lwb is his best position but he was shocking there majority of last season. Looked good there under val but even palmer looked decent under val.
If we are knocking bids back for him we must be mad id let him go doesnt look like he wants to be here anyway.

Both Styles and Helik can't be moved on quick enough, it's quite obvious that, certainly in Style's case, he's lost all interest in wearing the Barnsley shirt, I agree with most people that the lad thinks he's a better footballer than he actually is, as for Helik, most would agree he deserves to play at an higher level.
The next phase of our player recruitment and the quality we bring in will be determined by the sale of these two.

Hope yesterday was a one off regarding Cundy because he looked like a accident waiting to happen so slow and indecisive.

I felt he could have done more to prevent their goal, didn't see the urgency. A bit like last season from our midfielders. He's obviously disappointed not to have left yet but the club are right to hold out for what they think is the right amount. He has to just get on with it and be professional, like we all have to in our jobs.

Weird one isn’t it. Surely you would want to showcase your talents and make people see and think that’s why he’s an international footballer etc but really he’s a half decent footballer. No more no less.

I like Styles and think sometimes he gets a bit of undue stick on here.

However, if he wants to play premier league and international football, then he needs to grab league 1 games by the scruff of the neck whilst he’s here. He needs to be looking a class above in this division and didn’t yesterday. We’ll see what he can do against Cheltenham next weekend.

He held his own in those international games tbf, so it’s either bad coaching or bad attitude or both that’s making him less then good when in a red shirt. I think he has to move on now, tricky thing is we need to get our moneys worth with sell on clause as I believe he could end up in the premier league. It would be very short sighted to just get rid on the cheap, maybe he needs an arm around his shoulder or a a stint in the u23s - who knows, strange one indeed.

Alongside Brittain, arguably the most disappointing player for me last season. Clearly a talented lad, but means nothing if he can’t do it in League football. We’re not privy to what goes on behind the scenes, but has all the signs of a player that just doesn’t want to be here.
