And red card? Just watched the highlights and in the 2nd half why didn't we get a penalty and their player sent off? Just about to shoot and their lad puts his arm out and pushes him over. One of the clearest penalty and red cards I've ever seen.
Appalling decision - if that’s not a penalty then nothing ever will be - Plymouth most definitely got away with one there
It was a shocking decision however we can get ready for some more, the lower the league the poorer the officials , yesterday the ref was clearly a homer & not only was he culpable for the awful penalty decision so was the linesman who had a clear view & yet did not flag .
Looked like he first had his shirt pulled & then pushed. From that clip looks like Williams was only other one who appealed?
Because we saw the incident from the side, and so it was obvious, but the ref saw it from behind, so wouldn't have seen anything really. And unless a foul takes place within 10 yards of an assistant referee then they very rarely flag. I don't know why they remove themselves from such decisions but they do.
Probably doesn't give a ****. Won't be held accountable. On to next week! Referees are afforded far too much protection in my opinion and should be held more accountable for their decisions.
Refs sometimes give instructions to the linesmen before a game eg , Offsudes snd throw ins only etc , Not saying that’s the case but could explain why they don’t intervene . On another note Plymouth could have had a pen in first half imo .
I did comment in first half that when every decision was going against us the ref was miles away cant remember were he was for the pen
According to the BBC Sport website, Plymouth conceded just 2 free-kicks in the entire match. That must be a new record. It is not only a very low figure. It is a suspiciously low figure.
2 “officials” missed it! Must have been the only 2 in the ground to have missed a stonewall penalty. It can’t hide a poor performance but it had to be given
It felt like every free kick decision went against us yet the Plymouth fans were signing about the **** ref. I wonder if that was playing on his mind because that is an absolute nailed on penalty. Their player didn’t even make the shove subtle!
Watching highlights again that was a definite penalty. If that was in the opposite area the ref would have given it.
I get that about the ref, but in that case what is the assistant actually doing? I'd always thought that as well as throws and offsides, one of their main jobs was to keep an eye out for incidents that the ref misses.
