Stokes top scorer last season and player of the season scored yesterday... well done jacob and to think some of our fans wrote him off.

Hopefully he gets a decent move soon and we have a decent sell on clause.

Some supporters even said they wouldn’t have had him back last season. Try and work that one out.

Yet the BBS is viewed by many to be some oracle of sane opinion. Think we’re miles off a lot of the time.

Not me, we once had a brown, mowatt thread on how rubbish they were and it was just ridiculous because you could see that their were 2 good players in there.

13 goals and 4 assists last season for stoke so contributed to 17 goals thats about half of what we scored last season. Always rated him and one of the most hard working players ive ever seen in a barnsley shirt.

Val would have loved him in that team. Dike, Brown, Woodrow, Morris and Chaplin.

Great player and a great lad.

Bygones but he would have fitted into Val’s system brilliantly

It's weird - I think there's a lot of 'noise' on here from people who want to have controversial opinions, but generally Browny was very popular amongst the fans. I know he was one of my favourites, and a mate jokes about having Jacob's picture on his office wall.

Considering his position, I just think he’s one of those players who aren’t that particularly pretty on the eye. He’s an effective player, though. The stats clearly prove that.

    fair play to him.

Did the majority of the bbs say that about him or a minority?

You did but you also appeared to use that some as evidence against the BBS en masse.

Anyway, enough of that. I woke up in the middle of the night (I think) and saw a reply from you about the fan zone but I couldn't find it again this morning to reply.
I think that a lot of clubs have small fan zones because of the amount of land available. We are lucky at oakwell to have much more land than any other club I can think of so surely we could make it bigger than it is? Walking past it it looks so uninviting purely because it's so crowded and small. Couldn't even see the floor and couldn't see any seating at all in there. I'm sure there is though but the fact it couldn't really be seen is a bit of a sign it's overcrowded isn't it?
It isn't a dig at you lot who run it or even at the club to be honest. It just is what it is. But as it's seemingly got more and more popular does it's footprint need to grow too?
The barriers are along the edge where the carpark meets the 'road' but as there is only one way traffic prior to kick off is there any possibility to move the barriers further into the road as it only needs one lane for traffic not two? As I walked past my first thought was 'wow that's rammed'. My second was 'is there any way to make it bigger' and my third was 'i wonder how many people give up their time for this' (because I always imagine there's only about 5 of you but that seems way too low).

One other thing I noticed was it was practically all cleared away at the final whistle. Are you missing the game clearing it up too?

No I didn’t. But continue trying to pick fights and find holes.

There’s a FanZone thread or MatchDay experience thread for the other stuff.

Reminded me of Marley Watkins in his general play. Ran his blood to water for the team. He just had to sort his finishing, which he seems to be doing.
    Pleased for the lad.

The main perpetrator was YN and, although he never said so, I always thought that the sole reason why he was obsessed with getting them out of the club was because they were the last two first team squad players left over from the Patrick Cryne era. We all know how much he loved Patrick.

This was last season. Either when he got his Scotland call up or when he got POTY.

Some of the bbs said "if toneys worth that whats cauley worth?" "Dont want toney back" "liam lindsay is a better defender than pinnock" "lindsay will play in the premier league" but i can remember alot on here been critical of brown like loko says even last season some were saying they wouldnt have him back. When a player then does well at another club these posters go quiet.

A few opinions on brown here https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/jacob-brown.301296/

Jacob was a very useful player for us, he was very versatile , quick & hard working, I also think he had a very good leap on him & was more than useful in the air , he would have fitted into Vals team perfectly & I wish him nothing but good luck for the future , he is a very good player .

Not just the BBS a ST owning person behind me who afik never goes near the BBS used to annoy me every tiny error or misplaced pass he’d be yelling at Brown pointing out how rubbish he was even when it wasn’t his fault eg an over hit pass to him was Brown being rubbish for not moving quicker. I he scored or set up a goal it would be “ I should think/abart time the number of chances he messes up he is bound to get one right eventually”. I never figured out his irrational dislike and in the end just tried to ignore him
