I would’ve bought the shirt with no logo, or the charity logo from last week on it. Not buying that. No redeeming features to this deal.
Not as simple as that with this lot unfortunately. The worst bit is the non stop posting from the Hex investors/followers. It's relentless, every post they are there commenting. I posted one reply yesterday to a BFC official post and had replies coming through slagging me off all night and all day today from Hex fans cos I said the logo looked too big. No longer able to interact with my own club and fellow fans it seems as they don't stop.
Mate it's doing my head in already. If any of them reply I block them. Been non stop all day. What a joke choosing to associate ourselves with these crooks.
He said you're guys too. I didn't know you were more than one person. They are a strange bunch. I am sure our board are well aware of the ill feeling the sponsorship deal has brought.
Not sure they will be that bothered unless stop paying us. Club have been encouraging it in some ways so far tagging Hex in posts and the whole Hexcellent win tweet etc.
A very bad move imo. Even if all the money was paid up front. Hate the word "tinpot" but it's valid in this case. I d sooner have Rumplestiltskin as a sponsor!
An Internet shill is someone who promotes something or someone online for pay without divulging that they are associated with the entity they shill for. A shill might create a Facebook or Twitter account, set up a blog or simply comment through these and other channels, such as discussion forums. noun an accomplice of a confidence trickster or swindler who poses as a genuine customer to entice or encourage others.
Tinpot for me is doing things cheaply and a bit amateur. Rumours yesterday were it’s a really good sponsorship deal and they’ve paid up front, which if true doesn’t make it tinpot and more just a challenge on ethics.
Not based on how I associate tinpot no. Poundland feels tinpot. This is questionable from an ethical perspective, but tinpot wouldn’t have got more as much money as previous deals and had it paid up front*. We’d have got less, not got it up front, and watched them go bust. * assuming the rumours are true
Where are the rumours from? Anyone reputable who you know is in the know? Or could it have originated from the tweeters themselves?
The company we're associated with is tinpot, based on the responses to someone saying they thought the logo was too big on the shirt. Sorry for the double post!
Nah. Chatter in the FanZone. People know people, etc. Hence the big caveat, but more often right than wrong.
I would be amazed if our front of shirt sponsor deal after being relegated off the back of one of our worst seasons ever, is worth more than previous deals.
As far as I know Poundland has never conned people out of money. I’m not ashamed to say I shop at Poundland and other alternative cheaper stores like Aldi and Lidl. Does that make me ‘tinpot’ then? I’m pretty sure millions of others that do the same, because we sadly find ourselves on financial hardship due to the cost of living situation and other issues. We’re not all blessed to have high paying fancy jobs like you. Think you need to take a step back and look at how you come across to people with the some of the stuff you come out with on here and how you verbally look down on people. Do I have to remind you yet again that you’re a representative of the Barnsley supporters? A supposed bridge between the supporters of this great club and the board? You’re also an admin on here and I never seen any of the other admins display the behaviour and attitude that you do. Anyways I’d rather look ‘tinpot’, than a complete and utter tosspot.
