I could be misremembering but I'd have put money on seeing him in the oakwell directors box for games 10+ times pre-covid.

I was one of the most negative on here about the board last season and, I feel, for good reason. Conway was running the club and it's spirit into the floor. He set this club back five years and more. Probably back to pre Hourihane so make that seven.
I'm hopeful that the new board have a different approach and even a different emotional stake in the club. Hopeful but yet to be convinced but given the financial corner we've been driven into there is no immediate fix so I'll give them time and some slack.
The best we can hope for this season is a reasonable showing. Forget the play offs. We don't have the strike power and i don't see where the money is to buy any.
That's by the by. Just some gradual improvement on and off the pitch this season is as much as we can expect.

For those who continually throw the phrase "joke of a club" around can I just say this...
135 years, Ronnie Glavin, Tommy Taylor, Neil Redfearn, Adam Hammill, Ashley Ward, Danny Blanchflower, an FA Cup win, an appearance in the biggest league in the world, fans like my Dad who watched the club their whole lives and never saw us win a thing......none of that is a joke. The only joke are those who bairn and whinge because things can't go our way all the time. Who run the club down, who treat every transfer fee as a pittance compared to what Peterborough get. (What league are they in by the way?).
    Those people are the joke.
FFS grow up and maybe show some positivity for the season and let's reassess when it's done.

If I told you that I love you for that post would it be considered a bit too "forward?"

I’m assuming KidSuper will be involved in the Away shirt design as the home shirt is red with a bit of white on it . The shorts could go retro 70’s style slightly flared with a 12 button waist band

KidSuper may as well do the boots too, taking his inspiration from any of those worn by Abba when singing Waterloo.

Should just shake hands now and have a 12th place finish then. Save everyone the travel expenses and drinking tokens.

You can have an enjoyable season finishing 12th SD.
We're Barnsley not Man City. 12th this season would be some achievement given how quickly we're having to shed players.

So what you're saying is you only want to go and watch them if theyre guaranteed to have a good season? We're Barnsley. When did that ever happen?

I never said that. I don't turn up thinking I hope we draw today because it will aid us in the achievement of our dream 12th place finish. I'm a better fan than you because it gives me a wet dream.

It's not about better fanism SD. It's about accepting reality. Presumably you accepted reality the last few times we went up to the Championship and everybody was saying let's just establish ourselves first.
Well the current reality is we have f**k all money, a patched up squad and 12th place would be a pretty decent outcome for this season.
Do either of us want that to be our ambition next season? No.
