I can’t see anything with a quick search about the alleged questionable tweets and stuff ( don’t use twitter), I don’t really know owt about crypto currency but do recall a thread on here where some were actively involved in Bitcoin ( don’t even know what that is), I struggled last week with the US dollar so no idea about imaginary money and the Dollar is more or less similar to the quid).

So the club's response is that the club have no response and refused to respond to the 4 specific questions.

    Nice one Barnsley, stay classy

Are BFC being paid in sterling or in HEXcoins?

My main worry with this is the fact the Hex cultists will get their claws into our supporters, specifically those who live paycheck to paycheck, and persuade them to actually invest in Hex. It's a Ponzi scheme, so they will get some returns to start, and there will be those that can't help lumping their savings, or re-mortgaging their house to "chase the dream". These schemes can really ruin lives.

But it's ok, because Hemmsy thinks it's ok and we might get enough from them to cover the cost of a day's loan of a 13-year-old from Chelsea...

tbf it's reasonable to give them time to investigate. a holding statement is a way to do that. my disappointment is that it had to come indirectly via response to BFCST. for me it shouldn't have needed that. IMO the Club should have been proactive and issued a statement as a direct response to rainbow reds open letter. it leaves me with a feeling that if BFCST hadn't reached out, we'd possibly still be sat here waiting. meanwhile, the twitter responses to rainbow reds are mostly hexican cultists openly mocking them.

I desperately hope the Club have made direct contact with rainbow reds.

Not the case at all. Because we reached out so early on in this, and asked for a quote to include and held off to wait, they wanted to give us that and use us.

Nothing more to it than that really, knowing Doug would pick it up for the Chron as I’d spoken to him already.

The biggest concern for me is the commercial naivety emanating out of BFC. It just seems like one disaster after another and suggests a total lack of acumen.

Less of the silly digs but I do hope the club are happy that you are the others are going to ask the club what the deal is and when its cancelled will be more than willing to cover the money yourself wont you.

The fans that travelled last week and will travel north later this week care about winning.

Yeah I realise that's what's happened. That's what I'm saying I disagree with. I don't think BFC should have issued a response via BFCST. I think they should have issued a direct statement, through official Club channels. It's not a criticism of BFCST in any way. An official statement from the Club and specific questions raised by BFCST are separate things for me. There are people who are fans of Barnsley Football Club that are not members or subscribers of BFCST. I'm also disappointed that there hasn't been any public direct response from the Club to rainbow reds open letter - albeit I appreciate they may have contacted directly by the Club.

Not taking it as a criticism. I’m trying to say that I know the club would have put something out, but given we were going to release the exact questions we asked this morning, and Doug was lined up to cover it, they deliberately chose to give us that info.

Fair to question that approach vs. official channels though.

With all due respect, you're asking him to refrain from silly digs, in the same breath as asking him to cover the value of a cancelled contract. Of course he won't. How on earth could, should or would he? He's not responsible for agreeing commercial sponsorship deals, is he.

Morals are more important than winning football matches. If you disagree with that, there's honestly no hope for you.

How much do you think this deal is worth? Clubs at this level rarely get over £250k per season. It seems fair to assume that as we're far from the biggest club in the division that we can't command a price close to that.

If we assume that we get a generous £200k it seems like that the sale of either Styles or Helik and saving in wages would offset things.

Also, no-one seems to know if the money has been paid up front or not. If Hex goes under/dissolves/whatever it's called when a crypto fails and we haven't been paid then we lose that money from the budget anyway. Or maybe they're paying us in Hex? In that case the contract could be worth anything from 50p to billions.

Please don't claim to speak for me, you don't and never will.

I went last week because I wanted to see my team play football at the start of a phase where I was hopeful that the club would once again be primarily about football and not the rest of last season's **** show. Of course I want the team to win but I don't want a club surrounding that team that is frankly morally bankrupt and commercially incompetent.

Leaving aside that we don't know if Hex have actually paid anything to cover yet, I assume by this statement that you will be more than willing to cover the loss of income from any number of current supporters for any number of years who become totally alienated from attending the club by its connection with a company whose associates peddle homophobia and make other statements that are less than appreciative of other protected characteristics.
