He will never be accepted because Conway brought him in.As he got everything right no,as he got everything wrong no.Whatever he does will be scrutinized with a fine tooth comb because of the Conway connection.Looking at his cv he's probably the most experienced of our last 3 or 4 CEOS. From day one hes been hounded. Even when hed only been in the job for a couple of weeks he was blamed for events which had gone on well before his time. If he was involved in the Hex sponsorship he has questions to answer but so as the rest of the board.
Not really sure how anyone can defend him. He’s got precious little right and I’ve not got much confidence he ever will. This sponsorship fiasco ought to be the end for him but it probably won’t be.
He’s presided over recruiting the two worst managers in our history, relegation, the west stand, the worst match day experience I can remember in many years and now this absolute embarrassment with Hex. Totally lost my confidence. I would be seeking a replacement as soon as possible.
No need for that Archerfield I expect better from you.Like I said he's not got everything right but he hasn't got everything wrong.Do you agree though he was tarnished having been here a couple of weeks when he was asked questions that were impossible to answer.I personally think the Conway connection is like an anchor round his neck.
Conway hired Schopp. Khaled has only appointed Poya and Duff, and I’m liking what I see from the latter.
But has he got more wrong than right? In his own words he has had “99.9% autonomy” on Club operations. As CEO, his role is to advance us as a football Club, on and off the pitch. Do you think he’s done that during his time? I don’t, personally. I think we’ve gone significantly backwards under his watch. Then this hex thing. Fk me. Just beyond incompetent. It’s shameful.
What's actually changed for the better under him? I don't think he's solely responsible for the mess we're in, but I am struggling to come up with something that has been both reasonably likely to be under his control and a really positive change.
That's a load of ballax, but you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. He's been scrutinised because of the awful decisions and the way he's communicated since he's arrived. It's actually got to the stage now where I am also questioning the people above him and their competence in running a football club, the longer he remains the more obvious it becomes that they aren't much better.
He started badly with the West stand debacle and tbh things havent really improved. He is trying to engage with the fans and local business though.i hope he makes the right decision regarding this hex deal now
You’d need to go back to the posts after the last Q&A (as I can’t remember the detail) but his CV is much deeper than that to be fair to him. Doesn’t make him more competent because of it, but only fair that he isn’t labelled as a scout who became a CEO with no other background in sport and business.
Spectimur Agendo . I know he’s got more wrong than right , the list above sets out his wrongs but I’m struggling to find any cons . Probably appointing Duff as even if it doesn’t work out I think we can all agree without hindsight it was a very good appointment . But other than that I’m struggling and his first actions on the West stand and lack of explanation at the time meant he was on catch up to start with imo . Nothing personal to the bloke ad I’m sure he’s a very nice person but his initial customer/fan sortee was way under par and what info I’m getting of this Hex smacks of desperation .
Duff has literally managed 2 games. In one of them we lost and played utter garbage. Don’t get me wrong we all want him to be a success, getting us out of this league and he comes across like a guy with clue unlike his predecessor. But to use him as a positive for El-Ahmed with him being so early in his tenure as Barnsley head coach and again having only managed 2 games you’re clutching at straws for a positive for the guy. Proper desperate sh’t that I gotta be honest.
I wasn’t using it as a positive. I was replying to a post that incorrectly said the current CEO had, in succession, appointed what could be two of the worst head coaches I’ve ever seen at Oakwell with Parkin and Hodges. No harm in being positive about Duff at the same time. I think he’s exactly what this football club needed this Summer. If you stopped trying to dig me out in every post it might help.
You very clearly were. And maybe people won’t need to ‘dig you out’ if you didn’t continuously spout complete and utter ballacks? Look I’ll stick to backing my sh’t up with facts and you can carry on thinking the sun shines out of the CEO’s arse.
