    I looked out of our bedroom window last night and saw a bright orange coloured star/ planet pretty low in the sky.

    What was it? I reckoned Saturn but a colleague at work thinks it could be a Supernova.

    Was it in the west? If so I saw it too, definitely not a planet as it was twinkling. I think if it was a supernova it would have been all over the news as it’s a very rare event.

    I'd say as I was looking out of the window it would be looking towards Doncaster from Rotherham.

    It might be Mars, i remember in 2018, there was a sighting, i also read somewhere the Earth is Spinning faster than ever. p,s, i'd just like to say it was a great programe.

    I saw a big orange ball low in the western sky about 3am and assumed it was the Moon. Surely too big for one of the other planets?

    In the west early evening it's the star Arcturus. Looks bright and orange tinge. In the south low down at mid to later evening it's Saturn (looks like a reasonably bright yellow star). If it's in the east late evening and is exceptionally bright it's Jupiter. Any supernovae we can see by eye is a very rare event.

    Oh and to add left of Jupiter early hours looking reasonably bright and red is Mars.
