I think it is a mistake to think the lack of goals is because of poor strikers, not many goals are individual efforts, a weak defence causes an overworked midfield and by its nature limits the creative attacking midfielder to supply to the forwards and/ or threaten themselves. We have a weak ‘backline’that’s where we should strengthen now! IMHO!

We will sign more strikers, I've no doubt about that. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of those names leave too if we did. Iseka I'm sure we'll be trying to shift, and I reckon once we've another body in, Cole might get moved out too, even if only on loan.

Duff has said that it'll probably go down to the wire, I imagine the players we've identified aren't being made readily available just yet.

Different position, but a player I'm keen on is Matty Longstaff at Newcastle. He's featured for them in pre-season despite being out on loan at Mansfield last season. I could have told you in May that he'd be going out on loan again this season. And over the weekend, it's been touted in their local media that he'll probably go out on loan again now, 19 days before the window closes. Therein lies the issue. He was never realistically going to be in Newcasle's plans this summer, but they've still waited until they've found a replacement to make the decision to loan him out. I imagine there will be a host of clubs who have him high on their potential incomings list, but the vast majority are going to be disappointed, and have to turn to plan B/C/D etc.

Marsh will be good one day but is still raw and inexperienced. Aitchison barely scored in league two last season so was never going to bang them in for us in league one. Iseka is massively out of favour which considering we are lacking goals it makes you wonder what he's like in training. Cole couldn't find the net with a map and compass to help him.

Until we start playing wingers the front two won’t get the service . Hopeful punts have been exhausted now . I’d put Thomas on the wing . He can beat a man unlike styles and Williams . We’ve no pace in that team without Thomas .
We don’t have a natural finisher( you could argue that Norwood could be that with decent service) who poaches around the 6 yard box . These through balls end up either straight to the keeper or offside .

We could be one of those clubs after Longstaff....I do think Duff stating that.... he has indicated that it will be the loan market to fill 2 strikers and a RWB.
Again this may depend on some of our players being moved on.
