Love this bit, our Championship riches eh ‘During his time at Fleetwood Town, Barton made a move for the striker but was blown out of the water by the Tractor Boys. And the same may have happened again with Barnsley, who will be backed by Championship riches, were able to persuade him to join’
I'm still amazed the verdict was not guilty. Presumably it was a lack of clear evidence. The man is utter scum, if I supported a club he was appointed manager of I would immediately withdraw my support.
I wonder if he will be in the dugout, or maybe safe up in the stand? I’m not one for advocating abuse of visiting players or managers but he will surely get some tomorrow. Lucky that there are all those empty seats to walk past.
Trust me he will be in the dug outs, he will love it , the more stick he gets the more he will enjoy it, my own take is to completely ignore him & certainly avoid playing to his ego .
Agree. I'll be focussing on the game. Lots of undesirables have taken the field against us and 1 or 2 for us. Maybe not on the same scale. But not innocents. It's not worth the effort. He'll not bat an eyelid. Shouldn't be anywhere near a football club mindst. Fleetwood and Rovers should hang their heads in shame.
As much as I despise the guy, I think that's a bit different. I'm pretty sure that we would be penalised if we tried to ban him. On the bright side, at least now the barsteward has to watch his team getting humiliated by us.
Glad not too much time was spent chanting about him and his assessment was spot on. https://fb.watch/eXQSmhBFKz/
I wish they would have switched the floodlights off half way through his interview. That would have been class
My West Stand observation of Barton. Complained a lot to fourth official, particularly first half. Complimentary handshake with Duff at the end of the game. Had a brief conversation with Devante Cole on the pitch at full time, where he appeared to be complimentary and offering encouraging words. Went on the pitch and shook the hand of every Barnsley player afterwards. Luke Thomas and Joey had an affectionate hug during players lap of honor. Nothing much other than that.
I have family in bristol...and all rovers fans. I attended a funeral down there a couple of months ago. Their opinion was... most gas fans think its embarrassing having him represent the club with his reputation but they told me a great deal of the fans (maybe half) think he's doing a great job and think he's ok.
Having a look on their forums it seems a 50/50 split. Some are staying away whilever he's manager At Fleetwood he humiliated a player that had opened up to him about his mental health. He's a nasty, cowardly vindictive man and I don't think he's that great a manager.
I agree RH...indicative of footy really. His actions would not be tolerated in hardly any reputable businesses as a manager of a company. Glad he ain't our boss.
