Is why I'm sat in my armchair on the BBS. Whilst this board have 8000 mugs lapping up the 5 hite nowt 'll change.
i wouldn’t call the other fans mugs. I’m sure they are all disappointed and some may even regret the rush of enthusiasm before the season start. By the way I’m home too, doing several other things including popping on here occasionally to judge the club by its actions.
The problem mate is the longer you do that ,its harder to get back into the habit of going. Not had a season ticket for 4 years now. I'm with you on the sofa ,I might have been watching a different channel to you.
Got my Tottenham and Arsenal and BT Sport, Racing TV and Sky Sports. Bulldose it and build a Tesco or sell it to Barratt homes. I'm done. Made some good friends on here who I can share my deepest, darkest thoughts with. It's a shame really. I ought to think before I post more. That's me though.
Bulldoze it ? Why ? If you don't want to go then don't but other people do. Iam surprised at you Mr Dawson.
I know your sentiments and you clearly didn't mean it in a certain way, but families spending time together, blokes who only have their kids on weekends, despite the result it's always worth it for them mate.
Walking back to the car , a load of kids chanting red army. Made me smile anyway, you can't win them all otherwise I'd go and support Man city.
I can no longer attend (as opposed to not wanting to attend last season). But there is no way I'd ever arrogantly sneer and subject other fans to condescending comments simply for having a different opinion to me on how to spend their free time and disposable income.
I couldn't go today because I was attending a family celebration, but I did go as usual on Tuesday, and I thoroughly enjoyed an outstanding performance by the lads. I think a bit of perspective is required.
No need for that. You’ve made your choice. That’s fine. I’m bloody annoyed tonight after an absolutely woeful performance, unacceptable from the players - you weren’t there but a lack of ability in the squad and still needing players might be blamed on the board, but players shirking responsibility and not doing the bare minimum cannot. Enraging, not acceptable, and I left early for maybe only the third or fourth time ever of the hundreds and hundreds of games I’ve attended - but I’ll be there for the three home league games in September. I’m not a mug. I’m a supporter of a football club, and a dad of three, two of whom are now season tickets holders and desperate to keep coming. (My seven year old was the reason I walked out when the third went in today - she didn’t need to hear what I was holding in; I’m afraid I was about to burst out with a frank appraisal of what I’d seen thus far - I walked out to vent it by cooling off walking back to the car). If you don’t want to come, whatever. Don’t dare judge me and my kids though.
I topped up my sun tan a bit. A couple of pints pre-match. Good first 40 minutes. Left at 0-2 down. Quick call in on my elderly Dad after the game. Now on the Hazy Jane & listening to some Studio One rockers reggae on my turntable. Keen to salvage the day. Sounds like @arabian_ian had as bad a time as us, if any consolation...
Despite not renewing myself I really respect those who have. I very nearly gave in and did so too. I still desperately want things to improve at Oakwell and will happily return once I see enough evidence things have changed (especially off the pitch),
