Was duff saying that we were the better team in the first half. Were we chuff Michael. We were **** because you set us up to be ****. You allowed us to be ****. You employed **** tactics and you made **** substitutions refusing to deviate from your **** tactics.
Don’t agree I thought we were the better team in the first half. We were not great but should really have gone in ahead at half time. Second half however we were very poor and can have no complaints at being defeated
Wasn’t a thread created earlier saying you wouldn’t say anything? I don’t agree by the way. Up until they scored, we were better I thought. Not Tuesday levels but still the better side.
We're what? 6 games into the new manager's reign and we're already at this point? Sounding like Wednesday fans. Today was poor. Awful, if I'm honest. But we were beaten by a side that bullied us and drew us into playing the game the way they wanted. We've got a young team. One of the youngest in the division and the EFL as a whole if my memory is correct. We will have off days. There will be games where our players are schooled by more experienced pros. But there will also be games like Bristol Rovers where things click and we look a decent side. I'm not a happy clapper. I'm not particularly an optimist. But this is a bad performance and result which follows a good one against Bristol Rovers and a decent effort away to Derby. I'm withholding judgment for the time being. I seem to remember that a number of our managers have made poor starts but gone on to improve with time. Equally there have been a number that have started well only to fall away horribly. Give the team and staff a little time and stop with the knee jerk reactions.
No way on earth we're the better side first half . Williams was hammered down the left . They were the better team easily.
Wycombe had one shot just before halftime and scored until then we definitely were the better team and they had the busier goalie after half-time they dominated us.
We were the better team in the first half. Collins had nothing to do other than a couple of crosses and getting the ball out of the net. We had three, maybe four chances, but didn’t take them. Other than a five minute spell slightly before their goal we were in the ascendency without totally dominating. But the better team for sure.
But what have we got to look forward to. We have no money because of how the club has been ran, we can't sign anybody to help us get out of this division because we have no money. It's a very sad time to support us. We have no party interested in buying us, we have a board that want to make the money back they have lost. What is sad is that we are going to be a mid table leauge one side for the foreseeable future. The joys of being a Barnsley fan.
Wycombe were the better team in the first half. They won that half 1-0. If we're forgetting goals and judging it on the balance of play then we had slightly more of the ball, completed a few more passes and spent a bit more time in their half of the field. We edged it but I never thought we were going to score. I thought Wycombe were excellent in the second half and gave us a lesson in just about every aspect of the game. They were stronger, quicker, more determined, much more skilful, passed the ball far better and scored two excellent goals. No idea how the one that pinged its way around the goal frame stayed out and they could have quite easily had a couple more. We were destroyed and can consider ourselves lucky not to have lost by 5 or 6.
Already at what point? Saying that we were **** and he got everything wrong? Well sadly we were **** and he did get everything wrong. Doesn't make him a bad manager or mean he's written off, means we were **** yesterday and he performed **** yesterday. Oh well
I agree with him, up until them scoring, we were the better side. Only marginally mind. But they effectively scored with their first foray forward. And had Cundy not dummied the ball forward and dealt with it, we'd have gone in level and that could have changed the course of the game. That doesn't mean we were without fault. The number of hopeful balls forward up to Aitchison was baffling. We played right into Wycombe's hands, and they bided their time and waited for us making mistakes, which we inevitably did. Second half, we were completely outplayed.
I thought until they scored we looked marginally the better side. At the same time we are so weak upfront we never looked like we could/would score.
I started watching in 1961 at this level, and we didn't get back to the second tier until 1981. Twenty years of third, and even fourth, division football with little to no hope of owt better. You guys ain't seen nothin yet!
One of the opposition players won a £20 voucher to spend in the club shop and a signed shirt for that.
