Didcot Town at home to Plymouth Parkway from the Southern League Premier South and West. Their third fixture in the competition.
what a great list.... I'd get behind the Collieries and Miners Welfare... the heritage you keep the Hashtaggers... I'd a loved o see the Brig in tthere...
Brig got to one or two before first round proper when they lost 2-0 at home to Blyth Spartans in front of about 3,000 at Park Road. Cant remember the year. Probably about 30-40 years ago
Once went to watch Mexborough main st. play Macclesfield at home. 1975 4th qualifying round. . . Mexborough lost 2-1. Macc. got Sheffield Wednesday away in the next round. 1st round proper
Is it owt like Mount Pleasant at Batley? I saw a match there a few weeks ago where the Dogs were 20-0 up after 12 minutes playing downhill, the opposition only touching the ball to kick off between tries
Twas actually in 1971, I was there. Official attendance was about 1600 but there were hundreds more in Sheffield Road watching over t'wall Blyth were massive in non-league at that time so it was a plum tie for Brig, and they made a decent fist of it.
Being a Ponte lad I’ve watched the Colls intermittently over the years. They had a proper good go at getting into the 1st round last season but came up short in a replay against Halifax. Hopefully they’ll go one better this year.
Let's go back to Stone Old Alleynians DB - despite being 1-0 up at half time, Casuals conceded 2 in the second half and are out.
Visited Colls a couple of times last season, good setup they have there and I'm very impressed by their community work.
