It wasn’t! The mic level was too low and we could hardly hear them. We only went because it was part of our Wildlife Park ticket but it was rammed.
My son and his partner got tickets for me and his Mam to go....it was shambolic...we were in the Bronze enclosure, they only did 1hr 5mins, you couldn't see the stage at all, the monitors werent high enough to see them properly either, the one on our side packed up for about 15 mins anyway and to make matters worse nobody could hear them, thousands at the back shouting turn it up...hundreds walked out. Made the Star already https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/peop...hing-slam-yorkshire-wildlife-park-gig-3822079
True story. Know her husband. Well used to anyway. Lived on our estate when we were kids. John-George (or Jonny as he’s now known) was a bit older than me and my best mate, who lived directly opposite him. We found it ******* hilarious when he replaced Kym Marsh in HearSay. We used to take the piss out of him for dancing about in a tutu in his front room as a kid while we were knocking a ball about on the street or on the field - and he ends up semi famous himself, married to a very-much more famous pop star wife, and living in Dubai running a stage school I believe. I meanwhile have managed to move from Bentley to Scawthorpe, via Cusworth.
Yeah, we were in the bronze bit. We went right to the front of it though so we were only two rows behind the last gold people and directly in line with the stage. Two people near me were gutted as time kept passing and they kept not appearing, until it was almost an hour late, as they had to leave early anyway and had only come specifically to see them and managed to only catch a couple of songs. How long was the Bronze queue, snaking backwards and forwards for miles too. It was so ridiculous it became funny again. We left at about ten to nine as they’d done most of their big songs and we didn’t want to be stuck in a stampede leaving. There were loads of people in a giant stream along the half an hour walk (!) to the car park they made Bronze park in.
Ta but I honestly don’t mind. It was much cheaper to get tickets that included them than just for the animals (now I know why ) so we decided to stay for it. Neither of us is a fan of cheese though so we didn’t have high expectations. It was an experience if nothing else and Barnsley didn’t lose so all in all a decent day.
Anyway the upshot of it all is that a big 1190ml use to last us a couple of months, the one we have now has lasted 3 weeks & it's nearly empty
A guy walks into a restaurant and wants to eat squid. He calls the waiter over, whose name is Gervaise, and says 'I want that wild squid there', pointing at a little green squid with a hairy moustache on its top lip. Gervaise says, 'but that's my favourite, I don't want to kill it, it's so mild and friendly'. But the customer is insistent, so Gervaise goes over to the tank, pulls out the squid and lays it on the worktop. He raises a knife and is about to chop it up, but he can't. Gervaise goes back to the customer, and says he can't kill it, but the customer still insists that he wants to eat it. Gervaise has an idea, and says 'OK, I'll go and get Hans, our dishwasher, he's a tough guy, he'll be able to kill it'. He goes and gets Hans, and Hans takes the knife and is about to chop the squid up, when it looks up. Hans sees its mild little face and its hairy lip and he can't kill it either, so they both go and tell the customer that they're really sorry and he can't eat it. The moral of the story?... .. Hans that does dishes is as soft as Gervaise with wild green hairy lip squid.
My Mrs went with her friend but they were in the Gold and literally right at the front. They loved Steps since school though so paid the extra and I've no idea how early they got in a queue. I know when they were saying this morning when the gates opened they ran to the stage to get the front! First they knew about the issues with sound were in the car on the way home. They were annoyed by the lateness and short show though.
I don't think the Gold people had to queue for very long (the Bronze was honestly hilarious how long it was and how it kept doubling back on itself, at least the people around me had great gallow's humour and kept everyone entertained). I think the only problem Gold had was when trying to leave the car park at the end. 10,000 people had to cross over a narrow road that was also the entrance/exit to the Gold car park and they had to keep alternating who was allowed to go, cars or people, so it took forever for anyone to get anywhere. At least they could sit in their car though, we all had a 30+ minute walk just to get to our car park. We left a bit early as we could see what would happen so other than the long walk, we managed to get straight off.
No, I think it's changed from what I've been reading. I'm still on one of my Covid bottles and it's lasting well.
