Whilst I like Tshimanga, I cannot help but think we won't be paying anywhere near what Chesterfield will want for him, for a player this window.
Surely he'd be cheaper than the one we are supposedly in for though? He's older, playing in a lower league and just back from a nasty injury. Asante has started this season on fire in a higher league playing for a team who aren't short of a few quid.
We haven't looked at a prolific league one striker like Stockton or league two striker like Keillor Dunn was, so don't think we'd look even further down the leagues.
How do you know we haven't? Keillor Dunn would have been a good signing, but I don't get the hype over Stockton. He's had one good season, and by all accounts is quite lazy, which is the last thing you need in a high pressing team.
There is nothing about Cole Stockton that resembles a prolific league one striker, aside from one season mate. I have to disagree with you, I think we have looked at a plethora of players from a lot of leagues. We've picked up some real gems, along side some real duds, in the past few seasons. I have full faith in Duff to make his mark, regardless of our signings
Me thinks Salford might be trying to generate a bidding war to get as much as they can for him before deadline , possibly it could go right to the last few minutes for which ever club gets him , watch this space .
They'll struggle to get a bidding war going if the buyout is £300k. They've no choice but to accept if they get that offered. It says a lot about the pool we're fishing in if we can't meet that. I guess we must have offered a low amount up front with other add ons based on performance/re-sale etc. It'd be disappointing to miss out on such a promising player with such a low buyout clause.
