Seems like a ridiculous decision from the outside. Beat Villa on opening day and looked decent in that game too. Then have lost to City, Arsenal and Liverpool which most teams will lost to anyway. The beating this weekend was a heavy one, but very very harsh to sack him for that. Only thing I can think of is he has had some disagreement with the board over signings or something.

Absolute madness. I’m not a fan of him, but after one beating by Liverpool looks like the owner already has a replacement lined up. Don’t think it will suit Dyche though… so who will it be?

That's what happens when you go in two-footed on the owner and the quality of the squad after a 9-0 defeat with five days of the window left.

It sounds like a common situation of an owner thinking he knows better than a manager

Eddie Howe is well out if that place, even if it has been home to him for many years. I’m pleased to see him doing well at Newcastle. Next England manager I reckon

He’ll get a decent pay off and a job at Sunderland if he wants it

"In order for us to keep progressing as a team and a Club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. We must also show belief in and respect for one another.

pretty scathing, as far as club statements go on manager sackings. obviously sacked for his comments, rather than the result. owner has already ploughed in about £150m I think? the stadium holds less than 12,000 and they're massively punching above their weight really. so yeah, possibly a bit annoying when you get spanked 9-0 and the manager comes out and blames the owner for not spending more money. I doubt Scott Parker is the only person that can do the job.

He's a bang average manager, only ever does well when his team is more expensive then others in the league. Might as well save a wage and put the hatstand in charge.

If they run sustainably they wouldn't be in the top flight.

It's a nice cardigan. I'd let him keep it as he's worn it ever since his managerial career started.

I think the modern definition of sustainable means continuing to operate as a football club

Looks like 9-0 is an automatic sacking. Jack Ross gone as well.

Reminds me of that scene in the Royle Family when Dave and Denise are singing to Baby David :)
