I don’t think my opinion carries much weight given I am not there tonight and I have only done home games, so far, this season. But from what I have seen, Norwood’s greatest talent seems to be arguing with linesmen while the game carries on around him or trying to knock opponents off their feet with little interest in actually getting the ball. Naturally, I want him to find some form and discipline but I just can’t warm to the lad at all.
I’m more annoyed about it now than I was at the time. Norwood’ needless sending off has meant Tedic has been a lone figure up front starved of anything, Marsh has covered every blade of grass but hardly managed to effect the game going forward. Not sure if Kane was going to be pulled after 30 mins anyway but they certainly weren’t going to let him do an extra man’s work when he’s just back from an injury. And worst of all the poor lads who came on and put a shift in at the end got booed as the final whistle went.
I thought it was a harsh sending off , he caught him with his arm but absolutely no intent & the ref did not wait a split second but hey ho !
He deliberately elbowed him, mate. But when i get caught for summat untoward, I hope you're on jury service.
i presume this is the "Dark Arts" Marsh speaks of that Norwood is learning the young players. Violent conduct ,arguing with refs ,off the ball fouling ,embarrassing diving
Toby Tyke knew what he was doing when he brought More-wood instead of Norwood Should have left it at that more resale value.
I still think Norwood will turn out to be a decent signing, he made a bad mistake with the elbow but that doesn't excuse the team falling apart like it did.
What was the score when he displayed violent conduct? What was the sense in doing what he did? Where was his responsibility to his team? Or the fans? How old is he? Btw that wasn't a mistake. That was stupidity. Not that it mattered - Lincoln had beaten us by then anyway.
No excuses for what he did and no excuses for how shambolic we were. Next time we play ten men all we'll hear is how difficult it is to break ten men down..
You watched a different incident to me. There was so much intent he went for him twice, he missed first time but made sure he got him the second. Shocking conduct from a man I'm starting to dislike quite considerably.
Lincoln had no need to break us down cos they were winning - and they did anyway. We were at home and were pitiful throughout. Did you see us posing any threat up front? We might not care about this competition. I don't. Most other teams don't too. But there is something bubbling under here that makes me think that we really are down here in the League 1 nether regions for a long time.
Disagree. He swung his arm/elbow right at him. Whether or not he caught him or not, the intent was there. He needs fining maximum allowed by the club. This is supposed to be an experienced pro
He led with an elbow in the box a couple of minutes earlier. He was a sending off waiting to happen. Moon was lucky to stay on too. But Norwood has shown absolutely nothing so far. He is unfit, looks knackered after 30 seconds, dives, fouls, argues and looks as likely to score as I do. But we’re lumbered with him for a year, cos I can’t see us offloading him.
We were lucky to not get a thrashing tonight which is worrying considering how many players we get back defending, let's see what Saturday brings mate.
Hourihane was good at the dark arts. Norwood isn't. If it's glaringly obvious to everyone in the ground, it's not very 'dark', is it?
