We did get a thrashing. That's 3-0 twice in a row at home. Every time I hear Duff speak - and it comes in different dollops - there are the good bits - and he tells me what I already know when we've done well. The bad bits are split into 2 - it's either bad luck or bad play. Hopefully he can sort out the bad play. He should get rid of the idea that he's having bad luck because he isn't. The resources available to him seem to be meagre. We have an ownership who do not think it best to invest. Why?
Haven't heard tonight's post match interview but I can guess it's Norwoods fault and not terrible defending. So far Duff reminds me a little bit of LJ in that he can make the score whatever he wants it to be by giving us a goal for a missed chance and then chalking goals off the opposition for any reason that fits. Early signs aren't too encouraging but I do think we will win enough games to be steady.
I really hope that he sorts the playing side out - every game I am desperate for us to win and to see hope if we don't. He needs time to sort it. But I'm not into this idea that he's doing well if he isn't - as quite a few are on here. At the moment his results are bang average for me. At best. So crack on Duffy.
Does the sending off in this competition count for league games? Just wondered if he will miss our next three league games.
Just on Norwood apparently squared upto Patterson and was witnessed by a few fans. Twitter thread below
I’m just angry with Norwood, even at 2 down it was still a competitive game. We showed enough in the first 10 minutes that we could create chances against them 11 v 11. Instead we got to watch Lincoln City doing passing drills for an hour. He robbed the young lads of getting a proper chance to impress as well. It’s hard to do anything with the ball when you’re a man down & you’re knackered from chasing the extra man. You bring someone into a young squad at his age & you expect him to lead by example, the last thing they needed was him losing the plot at 2-0. He should’ve been one of the calm heads rallying the players. Tedic & Marsh showed a couple of decent touches early on & unfortunately they barely got a kick after that.
Hope we are looking to ship him out permanently before deadline day passes. I don't want to see him play for us again.
