With the greatest respect, that's a ridiculous thing to say considering there's a cost of living crisis going on. People can barely afford necessities, nevermind football tickets.
Never gonna begrudge folk not wanting to pay exorbitant amounts to Sheffield Wednesday to go and watch us lose in that shocking stadium, especially given the current climate. But maybe that's just me.
Why is it pathetic? Extortionate pricing and most people are now worrying if they will be able to pay their utility bills this winter, Not to mention its probably one of the worst away grounds to visit
Can you explain to me why you say it is utterly pathetic ? Money is tight for a lot of fans & Wednesday charge top dollar , my money is spent at Oakwell to support my club & there is not a cat in hells chance that they will get a penny out of me .
1. It's only Wednesday - we'll have at least 2,500 there come Saturday 2. We're absolute **** and have been since we were allowed back in stadiums 3. We've won 1 away in the league since the start of last season. 4. As people have said, cost of living 5. We never get a result there (apart from in lockdown) 6. Hillsborough is a toilet in a terrible area We'd all love to see full away ends every week. Unfortunately that's not gonna happen unless the team start not being utterly useless and the cost of living crisis eases. Edit: for further context, I'm actually up in Sheffield on Saturday but cba watching us at the minute, having a day session instead. And I've previously and recently made the effort to go to Cardiff, Swansea and Luton (Tuesday night)
People have given their opinions on why they think it’s not pathetic, which about covers everything I agree with. Now can you give your reason/s why it is ‘utterly pathetic’
No it's not just you, football is not life or death especially given the present clime you've just pointed out.
I thought of a number of different replies to this but I've decided to go with this, I've tried to be as balanced and reasonable in said response as possible....... Idiot.
I swore I would never go there again after seeing us robbed for the umpteenth time about 10 years ago. I am a man of my word, if nothing else
I know what you mean, and I’m going against my better judgement, but it’s looking like I may not be able to go to an away match for a while, so I’ll take this one in.
Good amount that at £26 for an adult ticket, to watch a team that's let in 11 in 4 and to sit in a stand so dodgy that if another disaster happened in it, it wouldn't come as a shock.
Completely understand that money is tight for people at the moment but lets be honest, we have been charged a lot more at Hillsborough in the past. We took 3k to Leeds a week ago on a Wednesday night. We are quick to jump all over the team when they aren't performing but as soon as anyone criticizes the fans then people are in tears. All I'm saying is we could be taking a couple of hundred more.
Then why use the words ‘utterly pathetic’ and leave it at that? Leeds match was £15 for an adult ticket and they are a PL side which probably would be more of an attractive game for many Especially the kids. Hillsbro is not a great away fan experience. Edit. Forgot to add, I would guess at least another 500 will be sold come Friday deadline
