What was that all about? Or was I imagining it? I'm sure he was just lounging in the stands like a fan
Thankyou hadn't seen that. Shows to me that he basically couldn't give a toss about that cup and like how he used it as a training session for the players he used it as a training session for the coaches too. Fair enough like but they shouldnt lie and say they're taking it seriously when they aren't.
Plenty of managers have decided to watch a first half from the stands. As he points out, the idiotic red card ruined the chance to take something from the game and watching the players. Not like he wasn't in the dressing room before the game, half time and full time.
Oh I know he was there and stuff but he was definitely not taking the match seriously despite saying he was. It was a training session and a chance to try out the kids and **** new signings. Just wish they'd made that clear when asking for money I guess as it's a piss take to take money off fans to watch what they served up last night.
I'd be absolutely shocked if any fan didn't expect the first 11 that got fielded against Lincoln. Majority of fans were calling for it too. I think he was 100% interested in the game, hopefully getting a better look at some of the fringe & youth and seeing how they'd perform against a very decent league one side. Obviously if you're referring to the actual result & performance, I very much doubt Duff expected his most senior player to get sent off after 16 minutes.
Norwood was pathetic but that performance wasn't all down to him getting sent off. Our defenders were playing like competition winners.
I think Cundy was average. Nothing special but nothing particularly bad either, other than a couple of dodgy occasions. Moon was incredibly poor, rash and could quite easily have costed us more goals or got himself sent off. McCarthy has been disappointing this season, which is a shame because he came with big fanfare from up norf'. Oduor is poor at LWB but Duff hasn't had a proper look at him there. Hondermarck is far, far away from being a competent wing back, but again, Duff hasn't really seen him. So after this performance he'll know more about them all. It's better than risking it in a league game. We seemed okay before their first goal, and then obviously the Walton mistake compounded it. Then the Norwood incident, and after that, we had absolutely no outlet at all, so the defence was always going to be highlighted because the ball just kept coming back straight away. But like I said, I think the majority of fans wanted to see some of our youth play, and unfortunately it was basically backs against the wall for 80+ minutes
