Seems to me like this spreadsheet we’ve reverted back to has been more of a hinderance, we are missing out on suitable players left right & centre. Either that or useless mister Khaled hasn’t put a shift in as required & failed to land any targets. What a shambles this club is. And the token gesture of The Crynes being involved along with JAQ who pretends to like football has duped a lot of fans, myself included, into thinking things were actually looking up for a change. How wrong I was. Money back please!
Depends what tripe the “spreadsheet” has identified, maybe he doesn’t want them because they clearly won’t improve the team, much like Tedic, another pointless signing who Duff clearly didn’t want.
Might it be more stats than ever are widely available to clubs than anything we may have created a decade ago now.
I still don't believe our coach has much input in player recruitment and I think this has been the case for years now. I could of course be wrong and Duff wanted these players as he couldn't ones for the positions he wanted. I suppose we'll see what happens. I think the squad should have enough about it to achieve mid table, which is all I ever expected.
Regardless of who as fans we think we should or could have signed and we could be here all month if everyone on BBS listed who they think we should have signed up top or as a RWB etc. The fact stands that the board have failed him massively as he has said for over 6 weeks now that he wanted at least one striker and they haven't gotten him one. The spreadsheet/Duff must have found a whole host of options that Duff and the recruitment team will have found suitable and they have failed to get any of them over the line despite the long timeframe afforded to them. That to me is the massive failure. I really don't care if this Muskwe kid went to Fleetwood and that we were linked, or the Longstaff thing as they were rumours that may or may not have been true. What I am annoyed by though is the clear lack of competence shown from above to not get a single one done leaving the team super weak upfront despite the manager asking for new options for well over a month. As for Tedic who we got, I think it was fairly clear from the interview Duff gave to the Chronicle when he signed that it wasn't someone Duff had earmarked as a must sign given the fact he called him a development loan and stated he hadn't been signed to be our leading number 9. That is not the glowing reference of a manager who was keen to sign that player is it?
