Holding midfielder who dictates play. The one who can pick the ball up from the defence and run the game. Very busy but very calm, sweet left foot, great set price delivery (three assists in two league games).
Off topic but did you get in touch with Tomaiba?. He never answered my Pm and he seemed a bit low last time he posted .
Sent him an e-mail but no reply. Not really anything I/we can do with the minimal details we have, sadly.
Yep. Ive always said it isnt the players we bring thats the issue. Its that we felt we needed 2 strikers especially with the departures, fitness levels and some appearing to be out to pasture. maybe we can get more from Cole and Norwood and we can see Jalo and Marsh step up. But i fear over a season we might come up short in this area. but today we enjoy and celebrate.
Talk of relegation felt very knee jerk though, wouldn’t you agree? Especially given that yes, we look to have left ourselves light up front, but improved the squad in other areas? It’s only four months out of the next eight as well. If it’s proven we are really lightweight up front, then given the stability the next months will bring you’ve got to HOPE we’ll be far better prepared to go early in January for reinforcements.
I thought when he came on against Cheltenham he looked very comfortable and controlled his area of the pitch. Looked to have loads of time always available to receive the ball. Like him alot.
I don't think my opinion has changed. Today is obvious brilliant, plaudits all round. I'm expecting roughly tenth come the end of the season, no fear of relegation, but no real chance of promotion (lack of firepower/inexperience as a main reason). I'm still concerned with the board and the way the club is run in general. I'd rather the structure was less opaque and we had people oriented by BFCs best direction than profit in charge. I agree about the window. It wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't the worst we've ever known. And yeah, we can't form judgement yet. Give it till Christmas as a minimum, but I don't think we're a club who has the benefit of time on our side. Just as an addendum to this point, remember when everyone though Mads Andersen was the shittest defender ever to play for Barnsley? A bit of support can do wonders for a player.
First time I saw him pre season i said he looks like a proper footballer. He is. Superb performance today With Benson and Kane and the new lad our midfield should be one of the strongest in this league
Your opinion isn’t too dissimilar to mine. I think we’ll flirt with the playoffs, as in they’ll be in reach and not far off, but we’ll ultimately fall short. Not sure what’s opaque about the structure though. Seems pretty clear these days compared to what we thought we knew just a year ago.
Of course its too early to talk relegation or promotion. But the facts are that people will comment when we are nearer to one more than the other. People can only comment on what they observe and feel today. If we only commented after an event it would be a pretty boring place but life ain't like that. Nowt wrong with that is there.
Love that quote....a bit of support can do wonders for a player......that is too often forgotten on here.
Tomaiba is an American lady actually. Once saw something she posted on line explaining how she first got into supporting the Reds
Looking at him, he does very well to find time to dominate midfield for us, and being CEO for Notts Forest
