The goal was great, but that was the experienced performance we signed him for. Through the game he was supporting by the corner flag nearest us, having words with our lads, and being annoying whenever there was a corner down there for Weds. Long way to go - but he looked like an old pro today rather than what we've seen.
Hoping that Duff had words after Tuesday and that he apologised and promised to react the right way. Fingers crossed the red card was just a blip.
shout out to tedic as well. looks like a player that might not get into enough positions to score many goals, but he seems to win lots in the air and holds the ball up well, back to goal.
Maybe the red card was a kick up the arse for him. Realisation that if he doesn't pull his finger out there might be few places left for him to go above L2.
He's hardly played for us yet people are quick to write him off, I think frustration probably contributed to his rashness on Tuesday but fans still need to get behind him because if we are to get any success this season I'm sure Norwood and Cole both playing with confidence will be a big part of it.
Agree with that, definitely the type of player that would make a good strike partner for a nippy goalscorer
That quote there sums up exactly what MD is about. Like someone else said on another thread exactly what we need right now. Honest and grounded.
Might be the first time I've seen a player score with literally his first touch. Mind you the marking at the corner was woeful, no defender stood within 2 yards and none tracked his run giving him a completely free header.
It might have been a free header but WHAT a header! A proper centre forward goal. He met a beautifully flighted corner with power and precision giving the keeper no chance. Hope this is the first of many
I was really hoping he'd score yesterday. He was a complete idiot against Lincoln. However he k ow that, he's been disciplined and publicly bollock3d so it was time to move on and boy, did he do that yesterday. I was delighted when we signed him and I have evry confidence in what MD says about him and what he can bring to the team. It's about giving people time to settle. Give him time to get match fit andvready and we have a real asset on our hands.
That was due in part to Norwood. He came on and stopped on the edge of the area and nobody thought to pick him up
If I recall ... Andy Rammell did it with his first ever touch on his professional debut against Blackburn was it?
