The effort, running, making space, closing down are all parts of his game we've seen this season opposed to what we saw from him last season (I know he didn't get a proper proper run of games), but it's aided him massively in the eyes of us fans.

If Cole plays like that every game this season ....we have a star striker.
Really played Wednesday and the line well....held the ball up...his pace was good and he made good choices with his link play.
Take a bow.... Coley had the owls on the back foot today and gave them something you think about...
more of the same please Devante.

Another example of someone who, with the right coaching and the right manager can be a good footballer.
His work rate has increased, his tackling back has increased, he's winning more high balls and he's showing no little skill on the ground.
He's another one who receives so much stick on this site, undeservedly.
It was great to hear the fans chanting his name at The Piggery today.
    The lad has potential.

I'm the opposite and always thought that he could be good in lg1, playing regular in a positive team I don't see why he can't get a fair few goals. Hopefully he can grow in confidence with the manager and fans behind him.

Great credit goes today to Cole and to Duff, for helping him to produce that performance. Like everyone else in here, I was so disappointed that we didn't sign a new striker at the end of the window, but it would have been hard for any newcomer who we could realistically hope to sign to surpass Cole's performance. If he can play like that consistently, then a top 6 finish is a distinct possibility.

I've always said he as the potential, all that was lacking was a lot more application.
Over the last 2 games he as showed that and more.
If Duffy can keep him firing on all 4 cylinders we don't need to sign a goal scorer ,we have one already.

Glad he showing signs of being that player that he threatened to be when we had him on loan from Man City....hope he turns out to be the striker we didn’t sign this window if you get my drift!

Not sure that he's ever lacked application more a case of being in and out of struggling teams and not really being part of anything whereas he's now developing into our main striker and with Duff and the fans backing hopefully he can thrive on it.

He must have talent to be at City, hopefully we can get the best out of him.

As Wednesday didn’t score it was Cole who got the winner, Norwood just rubbed it in.

I said at the start of the season Cole could get around 15 goals if he was given sufficient game time. He scored 10 in 28 and 11 in 27 in league games for Fleetwood and Motherwell, and he's started 5 and scored 2 so far for us this year, so his return is slightly better than one in three. Given that he's probably the best forward currently at the club I think we need to stick by him. If he plays 40 games he'll get 15 goals, not a great return but enough for top half I'd say.

With a partner he would be ok. Relying on him alone for goals will be a disaster.
