Its certainly not point scoring off anybody .We all love the same team but some have an unusual way of showing it.
I doubt any single poster on here wants anything but the best for the club we all love. Some of us see things differently and there is debate on the rights and wrongs. Whether you perceive everything is ok at the club or everything is lost it doesn’t change the desire for the club to be successful. We just have different views to how that is best achieved.
You don't have to eat humble pie mate. Today was a great result. There will be a fair few days to come where the result is bad. I just hope people can accept the fact that we're at the bottom of a long climb to recovery and stop vilifying everything and everybody. Equally we're not suddenly going to make the top six. It's not realistic and not everything in the garden is rosy. Not by a long shot. It would be nice if we could all take a balanced view of where we are and react accordingly. Very pleased tonight though.
Great Post BMW. That is a perfect summary of how shockingly negative this place can be. Those same people will be adopting the same extreme negativity if we lose the next two games and their fall back position is always "If we're crap I'll say we're crap".........and of course that is their right. We're not communists. However I would just like to see more reasonableness when people comment instead of taking it to the extreme. Patience and perspective is needed at all times...especially in football.
I'd like to see fans be more realistic and not praise the owners or board members when they have not achieved anything worthy of praise. Works both ways you know.
For what it’s worth, which is very little, I’m not a fan of the point scoring either. I’ve challenged it enough when it comes my way that it would be hypocritical doing it in return. Who wins when old tweets or posts are dragged up whenever an incorrect opinion or view is shared? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Nobody should brag when they’re right over a fellow supporter who only wants the same end result. I think the point trying to be made is that there’s not many supporters, if any, that think everything is rosey at the club. That the squad is perfect. That things couldn’t be better. But there are those who judge everything as awful, everything as a disaster, and everything in the worst possible light possible. Some views don’t come across as very balanced. All some ask for is a bit less extremism in some of the thoughts and comments. But it’s football. It’s passionate. So I guess it’s just part of the territory of supporting a football team - however those accused of being ‘happy clappers’ are rarely so. They just don’t subscribe to it being doomsday so regularly and want to believe that every season will be a good one, and every match provides opportunities to enjoy supporting your football club. Not everyone wants negativity in their social life as it’s meant to be a release from what can be an incredibly difficult ‘real’ life.
No issues with people giving their opinion on things Mick. But it does get tiring seeing people slating the team before they have even kicked a ball.
I come on here to vent. Yes it's fickle. However, it's a high octane world out there. It's good today to have a release. It wasn't and won't always be the case. It's first time I've had a happy release of emotion for a few weeks. Likewise if it's crap I'd like to continue posting that on here. Mental health is massive. Jacktatty stopped posting today because of the way the club's run. It's a massive part of his life. It's a release. People don't want doom and gloom.
I’m sure he isn’t happy, but that doesn’t mean everything isn’t rosey. Nothing suggested he wasn’t happy in his role. Looking for negatives that aren’t there I’m afraid. Conte isn’t happy with his window. Tuchel and Klopp the same. I bet Sutton United wanted a couple more bodies in. You get my drift.
People also create doom and gloom SD. Have a read back at the thread announcing the team. That wasn't venting. We hadn't even kicked a ball. There are things wrong at the club. The Hex fiasco was....a fiasco and someone should have had the guts to hold their hands up for that but I doubt they ever will. There are some things that are inevitable consequences of the situation that we are in though and that can't be helped. Our squad is probably mid table. We didn't bring in a striker. Nothing to be done about that. The transfer window was akin to being sent to Tesco to buy a week's shopping for a family of four armed with a tenner. I don't care if people vent if there's good reason for it. I do if it's based on spite and conspiracy theories and it brings everybody else down with it.
Football is certainly a funny old game and we all have our views but my personal gripe is fans underplaying our potential, I hate all this lets hope for mid table and be scared of nearly every team that we play. With belief, organisation and confidence there's no reason why we shouldn't challenge for top 6 this season and that needs to be the aim.
