Had his work permit rejected. Sure folk on here were adamant Brexit would have no impact on football transfers. https://www.skysports.com/football/...jected-over-lack-of-international-appearances
Have I read it right ? He hasn’t played since December and Wolves were hoping to play him straight away
33 years old and hasn’t played a match in 8 months. He must have some incredible natural fitness to go straight into the squad.
It’s frustrating to see all of these Brexit claims turn out false but nobody caring about it. It was a con. Cue “remoaners just get on with it you lost” etc
Wolverhampton voted leave with a 62.6% share of the vote. It’s difficult not to laugh at Brexiteer Wolves fans isn’t it. Although I guess that there’s more reason for them to laugh at Brexiteer Barnsley folk isn’t there.
Not really, he missed out automatically by 2 points, which meant he would always gonna pass an appeal.
Why so? If the bar is set at 100 and he scored 98 - he failed. If you're offside you're offside. End of.
So how much less than 100 can u actually score and still automatically get thru on appeal, or does that only work for big name footballers?
Except part of the rules is to have the appeal process for people who just fall short. So the rules have been followed not ignored as you suggested.
Aye so that the establishment can make sure that the rules don't have to be applied to their favoured clubs. What's wrong with setting the bar at a point where everybody above it gets through and everybody below it doesn't? Transparent and fair. Make it subjective and thats where corruption (or suspicion of it) creeps in.
Nothing wrong with that at all, I’m not debating the merits of the system just that the rules weren’t changed to suit (which they clearly weren’t).
I would guess that the answer to that is that any ‘points based system’ has an arbitrary* element, and therefore needs a sense check in the form of an appeals process. *at the design stage there’d have been complex discussions about the scoring system, meaning that in itself isn’t a simple black or white, therefore any ‘pass or fail’ based on an arbitrary system is unstable. If your uncle was denied benefits because of his score at an assessment, but in your opinion he was more ill than your neighbour who received the benefit with a slightly higher score, I’d hope you’d be helping your uncle with his appeal.
