We'll have to agree to disagree. I think if the Brexit vote was held now there would be a different outcome. It has finished many businesses & has left the NHS, social care, hospitality & a lot more industries short of staff. He didn't deliver any kind of Brexit that was promised, was at least 6 weeks behind reacting to Covid & then totally flouted the rules we were all made to live by. My business was closed for 18 months, with no government help. Don't get me started on us shipping people to Rwanda. I could list a bunch of other things, like "levelling up" for a start.

We will have to disagree. That's very unfortunate for you your obviously an honest bloke. Yet again the system was massively abused by many " businesses" to the detriment of others. Hindsight or a crystal ball is a wonderful thing but on the whole, bearing in mind our demographic I think COVID was dealt with as well as it could have been.

Do you run a small business that was helped out, or do you just get your info from the Sun, Daily Mail / Express? It affected me massively financially, mentally & physically. Interested to hear what your experience was?

I have 30k of debt, when I was debt free before & I'm 57. Have been working 50 hours a week to try & pay it off & with rising bills getting nowhere.

Wish I lived in your utopia.

That's terrible. Although I don't know your circumstances it sounds like the systems let you down . With all due respect it's irrelevant what my circumstances are...I haven't read a paper for 30+ years. I personally know friends and other locals who benefitted from COVID payments and were very grateful for the payments. The apparent system errors in yours and I'm sure other people's individual instances doesn't take away the fact that the government were extremely generous with the allowances paid, as I'm sure they will be with an upcoming energy allowance. These were not payments made by covering up previous mistakes they are allowances paid for unforseen world events. Times will be hard unfortunately...and for some even harder. You genuinely have my sympathies.

Nor was shaking hands with COVID patients. Or covering up Cummings's ******** story, or eat out to help out, or numerous parties at his house (presumably different to having a drink), or track and trace, or spending millions on failed flights to Rwanda, or failing to get Brexit done, or... oh you get the idea.

No the only thing Boris ever did wrong was having a quiet drink with his former mistress

Ern he gave him a high ranking job. I think eve. The thickest among us know that's defending him. You're right though, that isn't inept, it's morally corrupt

I do understand that having a different opinion constitutes being "thick" on here. I have my views which are mile's apart from yours and most others. So I do bow to your apparent superior intelligence ....yes whatever you say must be right...and in the meantime the thick ones wander aimlessly

But I didn't call you thick did I? I said even the thickest of us knew it. I asssumed you knew that giving him a high ranking job in the face of the accusations was defending him right?

Yes as it was widely reported and indeed admitted who was aware. Boris Johnson was aware

    Via the downing Street spokesperson.

For someone who claims that they aren't a Tory you spend a lot of time on here defending them.

Having a different opinion does not constitute being thick. Being unable to articulate this opinion during a debate is another story. So is throwing the toys out when presented with facts and figures that completely contradict what you're trying to say.

It seems to happen a lot on here when folk are trying to defend the Tories.

Bit defensive for a reasonable question ?
However it tells me all I need to know about a right wing labour bashing Tory .
Your definition of inept is a very high bar when criminals can crawl under it .
He did defend him by the way as you well know .

My point being 90% of what we hear is via the media and press with whatever slant they put on it right or wrong, hence my original post and unfortunately most of it is believed. Corbyn Milliband May Johnson and next Truss will be gone due to the press digging for dirt. We all have skeletons. Even The most Holy do . I'd be surprised if another PM manages a full term in my lifetime. Again I have an opinion but I'm far from blinkered. Some of the comments on here already about Truss are hilarious. 4 hours into the job. I want the country to recover regardless of who's at the helm and for the last 12 years I have chosen Tory. Do you feel I should apologise?
