I remember as a child being really scared about the Queen dying and us getting a king. I’d probably been learning about Henry VIII at the time, and didn’t realise how small of a role they actually play in running the country, but I had a few sleepless nights worrying about us getting a tyrant king.
Maybe in the coming days though mate, rather than within minutes of the announcement. Not having a go, just a friendly opinion.
Sad news, she seemed to be immortal until recently. A great servant to this country no matter what your views are on the Royal family.
Can understand your stance on royalty but a person has just died, either don't post or show some respect
She gave everything for her position & the country , she was still working two days go , a very special lady , R.I.P your majesty .
fair dos. I'm sure you didn't mean it to come across as insensitive, but the tone and timing of your initial response was a bit off. she does deserve respect, regardless of your individual views on the monarchy. be cool.
June 2nd i believe... was that the extra bank holiday in her honour? Interesting how many "non Royals" took that day off rather than showing a statement of anti royalism and continue to work etc
Sad news I’m not really a royalist but she has been a far better figurehead than any president we would be likely to elect. Sad day for her family. But she had a good long life. RIP
Very sad day for the country. I'm a little emotional about it tbh. This is going to be THE biggest news story in many of our lifetimes. This is the ONLY news story for the next month. RIP Your Majesty.
No escaping it, BBC1 extra, 6 music. Had to switch off. I’d like to say each to their own but obviously not.
