I like being paid not to go to work.

If nowhere is open I couldn’t give a toss about a bank holiday. I certainly wouldn’t be watching the funeral as is my right.

Forcing people to “mourn” is just weird. Folk still have to work & should be able to look forward to whatever it is they enjoy at the end of week, football, golf etc etc.

We're still going to visit my son in Neath, if nowhere is open well so be it, we'll take plenty of food and booze and will be quite happy walking or cycling on the Gower peninsula or seeing the sights of Swansea (apparently it's quite nice).

    "Official mourning guidance" my arse.

No one is forcing you to mourn mate. Space and time are being afforded to those that want to. You get that space and time too and you can do whatever you like with it.

Surely having large gatherings at sporting or social events would give people the opportunity to show their respect ie a minutes silence which they probably wouldn't do on their own.

I would have been an excellent professional footballer. My preferred position is third choice goalkeeper. You can have an entire career without a single working day and retire wealthy at 35.

Why stop events. We don’t stop going to work for example either. It’s a load of ballocks. Been looking to visit family and see the game tomorrow but if the game is cancelled we won’t make the trip and then won’t make the rearranged game and won’t see my family either then. I know that’s my highly personal view but I honestly think the queen wouldn’t wish life to be curtailed after the past few years.

how many tickets have Pompey sold I wonder? Probably less then 1/2 would be able to make any rearranged date on a Tuesday night

If the match is cancelled tomorrow and you can’t make a rearranged match can you get a refund?

Not with a season ticket you can’t.

    With a match ticket yes.

Fair point, but why issue "official mourning guidance"? I can understand them issuing a notice about crowd safety limits etc at particular locations (Buck house, Balmoral etc) but as you say mourning is a personal thing and I get that a huge number of people (my wife included) will be in mourning in some way. But "official mourning guidance" suggests that there is only one "proper" way to mourn. Maybe I'm wrong and the guidance may be just about crowd safety etc so I'm not going to say any more on it mate, each to his own.

If it falls on the day you've been waiting for over two years, in discomfort, for an operation, then hell yeah.
