I see Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup …. most unexpected with India and Pakistan involved ! Could they be making a comeback on the limited overs game and be worth a little wager for World Cup ?
England have come under a lot of criticism recently but their results this summer show we’ve beaten NZ, India and SA with only one game lost. Admittedly, we’ve been lucky in some games but results on record will always show 6 wins and 1 loss against 3 top sides. After the World Cup, our objectives are to get two decent openers and improve our away record. Time will tell
I think we only play Kent once and that was in May. Good news that Brook is in Pakistan T20 squad and the World Cup squad. Whether he’ll feature regularly is a different question
https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/t20-world-cup-thread.308929/page-10#post-2849025 Called it Hasaranga is already one of the best spinners in the world, up there with Rashid Khan. Rajapska the first I heard of him was in the IPL this year. They could give backers a good run for their money in Australia. They are no mugs to beat Pakistan twice in three days with the bowling attack they had to face. Back on topic, what a shame the test couldn't finish yesterday. The players were not unsafe to finish it. Just another poor day in test cricket when it's dying around the world. Bad enough over rates costing customers.
Really hope Crawley can push on from that innings now. Clear his head a bit having an unbeaten 69 to dismiss SA in a session and a bit, and maybe start playing a bit more freely (and better!). Pakistan away isn't an easy place to go though, but then there might be a bit less media focus. One decent opener would be nice by next summer when them lot turn up.
Totally forgot about the 3 match series in December in Pakistan. Starting time in UK should be 4/5 in the morning
Joking aside, if Bairstow's leg is as bad as feared, Brook might be able to stake a claim out there. If say he'd be my first choice to take on a gap at 5, think he was a little unlucky at the Oval.
