Play-offs?

After 8 games, the league table is taking shape. Watching EFL highlights, we’re one of the better sides and should be making the play-offs. Lack of a goal scorer like Conor Chaplin could mean we fall short.

No play offs for us this season, we didn’t address the striker issue that Duff mentioned in pretty much every interview when asked throughout august so we are hamstrung till at least January unless we unearth some gem from out of contract players which seems unlikely. (Hoping to be proven wrong)

 

I think we will get stronger as the season goes on. Defence needs work imho too. We will be top 10 I think, in with a shout.

I wasn't too sure when the season started.

However, we have already competed way better than I thought at the toughest away games we have already been thrown.

Add in that at times we are playing some really decent stuff, and that we are still in early doors of Duff's reign.

We have renewed optimism from players which we almost all had universally written off.

If we are still in and around and not too much away from play offs come mid season, and if we can get someone hitting the net, we could just do it.

Lots of twists and turns to go, but we are heading in the right direction

 

Could be lots of games like Tuesday against sides we should beat. Watch us finish 7th!

 

All it takes is to be around mid table come Easter then a good run of form could see us get in at the last minute

 

We are above average and the playoffs are possible but we need to find some goals. If we don’t as said above we’ll have many more games like Tuesday.
Should have been coasting at half time but we couldn’t finish them off and they grew into the game towards the end.

 

I don't see it unless we unearth a goalscorer from somewhere early on in January.
Think the top 3 are nailed on with Ipswich, Pompey and Fowls. Probably then looking at Plymouth, Bolton, Posh and Derby as front runners for rest of play off places.
It's doable but not with the forwards we have right now.

 

Apart from the Wednesday game and Bristol rovers I thought we have been pretty average . The lack of a striker is a big concern .

 

I would expect us to improve as the season goes on. All eyes on the board in January. If we hover around 7-10th and then get a striker in January we should make the play offs. If we don’t sign one we’ll miss out
