Is clearly not very good. We have so many deficiencies in our team, we look easy to get at defensively, we lack at least one centre forward in the squad, and we’ve looked at times completely incohesive, other times pretty good, and have been massively inconsistent. We’ve lost a third of our fixtures, and won less than half. We’re sixth. I always said if we could be top half after ten or twelve games we could kick on for the rest of the season as we have a lot of new players all getting used to each other’s game, plus Duff’s teams always tend to improve over the season. To be top six after nine games with how bad we’ve looked at times shows how poor this league is. I can only think everyone else is going to improve as if this is the standard to be top six I think we all overestimated how hard things were going to be. I expect us to stay inconsistent at least until around the World Cup. If we can stay top six or eight until January and they bring in another forward to help, we might actually do ok. But don’t get too excited, that’s because of the standard of everyone else more than us being good. Unbelievable really. Those who said we’d go down again - if we can’t finish above four of this league then I’d be amazed.
Wednesday was obviously decent but this with what went on with Collins and Kitching has to be our best result so far You Reds
On us or league one? I’ll be honest I’ve not seen much other than highlights of other games. But I’ve seen all ours. For us to be top six after the nine games we’ve played - and how we’ve looked in some of them - that’s the conclusion I have to draw. I think we look susceptible at the back and lacking cutting edge up top. I also see a lot of room for improvement with the squad we already have - so to be top six now, it can only be seen as a positive. But I expected us to need to be much better to be in this position. I’m not unhappy we find ourselves there - and we’ve seen the standard of a lot of the teams above us (and got results against a couple of them) as well.
It's a really awful standard of Football in league one and has been for seasons. We should always have been looking at going straight back up at the first attempt and so far we are giving it an alright shot.
We’re 6th having been pretty average yet we’ve played 3 of the top 4 away from home. Think there’s more to come from this team. Time will tell I suppose but reasons to be optimistic at least.
I don't at all. I get frustrated when the players don't put the effort in. It's all tarn fans want. The way they threw the towel in last year turned me away from the club.
Rotherham piss it every other season. Did think it would be stronger this season but it really isn't. I think most of us thought it would be a seaaon of struggle and transition with the state of the squad but so far so good. Could have been even better if if we hadn't dropped 2 points at home to Port Vale in the week.
But aren’t we always rubbish when we drop points and the opposition rubbish when we win, irrespective of which league we are in?
