Wouldn't normally post anything like this but my Daughters boyfriend who is in the Coldstream guards or the Royals as they are known as, has been chosen to be part of the procession after the service at Westminster Abbey. The carriage with the coffin on will be directly behind them, they've put some hours in this last week with rehearsals and what not so hopefully everything goes well for him and his group. Originally from Wombwell so he's a tarn fan through and through
I was born in the queens coronation year and just watching this unbelievable event has never made me feel so proud of our country.
It makes me ashamed. Ashamed that we can't find the money to meaningfully help those in fuel poverty or relying on food banks but we will happily pull out all the stops and shut the country down at massive cost because a single person died.
If you are that ashamed you are welcome to leave but if you find Utopia please come back and tell us all.
I have a serious problem the bearskin tradition. But couldn't resist hitting the like button, just for today. I had a cousin in the Coldstreams too, back in the 70/80s. Hoyland lad..
