I agree he has a difficult job, I don’t think anyone would dispute that, but they can still back him without spending money.

Your Norwich scenario is not comparing apples with apples.
They are not skint or have money issues in fact the complete opposite so no if they did what you suggested it wouldn’t be backing him. Despite though last time relegated they sold 2 players for £39m and replaced with one player from PL for £3m others were from lower leagues including a Sunderland U21 from L2!

Think it's hard to compare a team that's been relegated from prem to championship to a team that's been relegated from champ to league one.

We don't get parachute money so we can't afford to turn down bids for our best players ( i do agree that we historically and still seem to always get shafted with transfer fees) . I agree we've lost majority of our squad but I think that's a mixture of not being able to afford them and also players not wanting to stay (that comment from Chaplin suggested players maybe didn't feel appreciated by the club).

Like I said i don't think our squad is too bad. It's too early to judge them. Think jaunary will be better time to judge the team and the owners, at minute we aren't doing too bad to say we have a big turn around. But for me top 6 is where we should be aiming for and I think that's realistic as well
