Yours is no better, show me the proof and I'll wind my kneck in, if you can't then you take off the tin foil hat, deal ?
I like how you and PT can guarantee that squaddies would’ve bragged about this if it happened. Maybe the NUM we’re having reports given to them by people who’d recognised soldiers masquerading as Police and doing it to rile up Miners. If the NUM were deliberately making this up then PT would have no trouble finding any material about it
I can guarantee this. I have been in the military since 1989 and I know what soldiers, sailors and airmen are like, there is no way this would not have come out.
No, I'm done, you clearly have a hatred for squaddies, that's fine it really is, it's sad when you hate them for nothing though, btw is the earth flat and was the moon landings fake ? Goodneeet
Mine is from what was reported at NUM branch meetings, word of mouth, etc,you know things actuallysaid and not what hasn’t been said, Also remember reading a newspaper article about it but it was a long time ago and can’t remember which paper, though I guarantee it won’t have been a Tory rag.
I have no hatred of squaddies or any people serving/served in other military Service whatsoever. Indeed, My family has a history of serving in the military service and the Police Force. My dad’s dad was a ‘Desert Rat’ who survived the North Africa Campaign, but tragically got killed in action after they moved to Italy. My dad served in the army before becoming a miner. You should’ve have seen his face when Thatcher called us ‘the enemy within’
I’ve got no idea if troops were involved in the strike until there’s a public enquiry into Orgreave and the strike we’ll never know , but that’s never going to happen .
Fair play to your dad and grandad, I did a battle field tour at El Alamein, they were hard sods to operate in that environment at that time, I don't have a military family background but my uncles and both grandads worked at Grimey for 40 plus years, my grandad used to say to me " never work under ground ****" left school in 84, 4 million on the dole, 25 quid a week YTS at Beeston Clarkes ( I think that's what it was called) then helped turn Hemsworth water park into what it is now ( just about) then signed up, depressing time back then even for myself let alone the miners, all the best
I am not saying it didn’t happen, I am saying that I would have heard talk about this during my time in the military. I left this year after 33 years service and I never heard anything to support the claims, and this would have come out at top tables, mess functions and beer calls, drink is a great loosener of lips. My brother was arrested at Orgreave and I can remember the strike like it was yesterday, and I can also say that in all my conversations with my brother he has never said that he heard the army were involved.
Do I take it PT by liking this that you take back what you said about me hating Squaddies or is it just done sarcastically?
