Theyre a big club, an establishment club. Different rules - or interpretations of rules - apply to them.
No that ended with the buy out. Not certain how exactly it works but basically any signings including transfer fees and wages has to be in line with what they have agreed with the EFL.
This is a real shame for Rotherham. They might be this season's Barnsley now. Derby might be last season's Rotherham.
Duff has been incredibly loyal to clubs. Why all of a sudden would he betray that by leaving after a few months here, at the start of his contract, to go to a club who (sounding like a Wednesday fan now...) will more than likely be down in this league next season? Perhaps a more stable championship club, but still doubt it personally. Just not Duff's character. I have no doubt he'd be tempted in the future, but not this soon & not to a club with similar qualities to ours.
Not a chance Rotherham would pay a lot more than us mate. I'd be more worried had Derby been in for Duff
He's now on the door step for them and at a higher level. He's showing like he did at Cheltenham that he can work on a small budget. There is no obvious choice I can think of for the Rotherham position.
Bit like when Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds, Millwall (...) all say fans specifically just hate their clubs, and everythings against them... So if each club's fans think that about their own individual club... perhaps youre just talking ballhocks!
Worried about this tbh, Rotherham appear never to go for the big name manager as such, wouldn't surprise me if they look at Duff as a replacement
