If the Ponty End chant something nice in the future, can we have the money back?

I wasn't there. I watched the game on TV but wasn't aware of any chant until after the game and it was discussed on here. I don't know if it wasn't audible on TV or if I just didn't hear it/wasn't paying attention. Would anyone mind repeating what was chanted? I realise it's probably not something anyone would personally chant themselves and may feel uncomfortable relaying it, but as we're debating this I think it would be pertinent to know exactly what we're being charged for. While 'sticks and stones' is a good mantra to live your life by, there are some things that are particularly vile that no one should be subjected to. I'd like to know where on the scale of things this falls. Some people may have a zero tolerance policy, but that is simply impractical because we all have our own offensive barometer and who decides which one we should take into account?

Yes it was the ‘Get your t**s out for the lads’ chant, one that used to be quite common and seen as funny by many in what didn’t seem too long ago.

I think it was Burton Albion years back who had a physio with a rather rotund figure. It was sung at him and no one batted an eyelid.

Its not appropriate - maybe some of the female posters are better able to judge how upsetting it is - to me as a bloke it seems there are more offensive things that could be chanted but maybe women see it differently.
No place for it but to me its not in the same league as some of the racist chants from days gone by, or even some things Ive heard directed at female assistant referees ( or Male ones or Peterboro managers for that matter)

Thank you. Thought it might be.

I've never chanted it in my life. The whole boys club thing was always lost on me and I always found this sort of stuff ridiculous, even in the 70s and 80s when it was omnipresent. I always wanted females to like me, think I was cool, and be my friend/take off my trousers, and I understood from a very young age that singing this kind of tripe was absolutely not the way to do that. And I've always had girl friends, like proper friends, so why would I objectify them? Well, I wouldn't.

But what do I think of this? It doesn't matter what I think, I'm not a woman. I've been to lots of football games with many different women - family-friends-girlfriends - and what do they think to this sort of rubbish? The women I know think, 'Meh, what a bunch of dicks'. But that's it. They're not traumatised by it because the chant itself is an *rsehole mirror. If you sing it, you're an *rsehole. But I shouldn't speak for women, and I shouldn't say whether or not we should be fined for this. We've got some eloquent women on here who I'd like to hear from.

I will say this: The FA pretending to uphold feminist values by fining clubs for stupid chants while ensuring no woman can ever get near a job of any influence within the FA is hypocrisy off the scale. If I were a woman football fan, I wouldn't be offended that some neanderthals want to see my t**s, but I'd be furious that 95% of all the well paid jobs in the organisation that are fining clubs for these chants are taken by white men. That's where the inequality lies.

Erm have we all forgot Barton is their manager ? Maybe some past ungrounded grudges against our club?

Not trying to excuse the whole business but sat in the stand at the time I heard nothing. I guess my point is that it was just an inexcusable minority and maybe it would otherwise have been ignored, (righty or wrongly) or maybe disregarded as idiotic “banter” but for the past unfortunate legal disputes between us and Mr Barton.

but who I am to judge ? I am just a bloke who doesn’t put cigars out in other peoples eyes !
