Our 5th visit to the Lancastrian version of Highbury. It has been something of a happy hunting ground for us previously, gaining 7 points from 9 in league meetings, and a penalty shootout victory in the JPT Northern final amidst our turnaround in 2016. At home this season, the Cod Army are unbeaten in the league. They have been defeated only by Everton at home over 90 minutes in all competitions. Despite that, they have only tasted victory once at home this season too, an impressive victory against current league leaders Plymouth. They've drawn their last 4 league home games, scoring just twice in that time. The victory over Plymouth is Fleetwood's only home league win in their last 15 games, and only their second in 2022. They have drawn 10 of those games though, so they are difficult to beat at home it appears. In fact, their overall form reads as played 9, won 2, drawn 6, lost 1. They have the joint 2nd best defence, and joint 3rd worst attack. They're a difficult team to break down, conceding more than 1 goal on just 2 occasions so far this season. We've won our last 2 away games, unbeaten in 3 away from home, and 5 overall in the league. Fleetwood have played mostly teams expected to be in the bottom half of the league, however their 2 victories have come against more fancied teams in the division. That being said, I'm remaining optimistic for the 3 points, and going for a 0-1 win with Cole continuing his good form.
A win by whatever score will do me. Looking forward to wrapping up warm at my desk and watching it on the screen. Just for a laugh I'll say 4-1 with Cole (2), Norwood and Benson giving us the points.
I’m feeling a 2-1 win. They’ll probably score first and jolt us into action, Cole and Thomas the scorers
1-1 but little confidence - after all if we are now one of the better sides we are more likely to get beaten
