I was surprised he was let go. He is exactly what we are missing from the squad really. And this is closer to his level. I don’t think he’ll be prolific but he’ll have his days - today being one.
Thats how i see it really always gave 100 percent for us so i wish him the best bar when he plays against us. Seen plenty of players over the years come and no give a **** and put zero effort in.
Apparently big Vic had a quick browse on the BBS at half time and thought, right, I'll show that @Dalestykes
Anybody who saw his commitment whenever he pulled on a Barnsley shirt and then watched that goal against Derby and still insists “he’s not a footballer” or the other bollx I’ve heard spout about him by some of the clowns, then I can only conclude they know nowt about football.
Played a big part under Stendel if he hadn't scored v Walsall (home) we wouldn't have gone up. Fine margins.
I was never Vic’s biggest fan tbh. He worked hard but he had enough chances and wasn’t nearly good enough for us, in my opinion. At the start of the season, I wasn’t sure he was league 1 level but he’s at least giving it a go now.
Decent ball even better header. My comment was aimed at the amount of times his poor touch gave the ball away or stopped a attack.
It’s true. The club wanted him to stay. But he wanted to be a regular starter, to kick on in his career. Can’t fault that attitude. Can’t fault him full stop. He is one of the nicest blokes you could meet. Glad he’s showing what he can do.
I've not met him, but that comes across just by watching him play football. He seems likeable. Same with Mads. He'd got some very good attributes. His failing from my point of view view was his first touch. The ball got played up to him but didn't stick. But he'll remain a player I liked.
I wasn’t knocking the lad but he had enough chances here and I think it was pretty obvious he was a grafter but unlikely to be prolific. Would be great if he developed into a regular goal scorer but…. Delighted for him today.
I had better put my spinning dicky bow on because I must be a clown because my opinion is opposite to yours , I love how all the players that leave us suddenly become world beaters in the fans eyes when they have moved on, but hey ho I am just putting on my red nose & my size 20 boots so I know nothing !
Everyone bangs on about the number of games per goal ratio. Played as many games as Woodrow. Correct. Ish One third of the minutes on the pitch compared to Woodrow. I wasnt a big fan. but the comparisons on his goal scoring over the last 2 seasons prior to this. Are unfair.
He was always commited and put 100% effort in. I dont think he has become a world beater since leaving us hes dropped down a league and looks like hes found some scoring form in a side who will most likely finish nearer the bottom of the league than top. Last season he scored one less than woodrow i think scoring 0 pens and playing less games. He was a proper scapegoat fair play to the lad.
He is a very likeable lad & all Barnsley fans wished him well but he scored 7 goals in 78 appearances for the Reds , if we had gone into the season depending on Vic to fire us to promotion the fan base would have been in melt down , it was a time for the parting of the ways. Sometimes a player can struggle at one club but move elsewhere and things fall into place & lets hope that has happened for Vic, but quite frankly I was happy to see him move on & if he bangs in 30 goals this season for Burton my opinion will not change , it simply did not happen for him with us, simple as that.
