Remember it well. What a comeback, best of my time watching the Reds though I’ve seen a few the other way too haha.

One of my favourite games ever. Just wave after wave of attack. Just knew we were going to win it.

Against a very good Fulham team as well. Only their second defeat of the season and robbed of promotion at Derby on the last day of the season. If they had beaten us after being 3 nil up they would have been promoted.

I can remember the shell shock but also the momentum when we got the first one back. It almost felt inevitable once we got the bit between our teeth.

As you say - impossible to forget but the one against us that I remember hurting was Bradford I think where Ashley Ward was playing for them - a lot of talk at the time of him coming back to us v.

They had 3 shots in the first 15 mins or so and scored em all. Then we absolutely battered em the rest of the game. It was one of those games, that the way we were playing, a comeback seemed possible.
As others have said. A fantastic performance and a joy to see.

That goal before half time changed the game's momentum - what a game. Up there with my all time favourite games at Oakwell

I think Gordon Davies scored 2 for them and wasn't it Tony Cunninghams debut.?
    What a game

Think Cunningham’s debut was at Newcastle the week before when we beat them 2-1, Keegan et al. Another great away game of the time.

Everyone thought Cunningham was going to be the next big thing, but sadly he had a touch like a 10lb hammer ,he was no Trevor Aylott

Cunningham rose like a salmon to head that winner. He was a great header of the ball. Interesting that Notts County were in the top flight back then. Original founder members and always fairly decent with a lovely stadium How the heck did they end up in the conference.

Never seen any footage of the Fulham game since. I’m guessing there isn’t any, sadly.

I think Fulham deserve as much praise as us, it was a real game of football, just kept playing.

Another memorable game around that time was also against Fulham.
A couple of seasons before on a Friday night at the Cottage.
Glavin and Riley in goal were stars of the night.

I also remember the disgusting beer sold at their main bar especially when it was shown to be “ Yorkshire bitter”
