I never got the hype with Dane personally. No problem with those who rated him though. And no, I don't quite get the hype with Khaled either.
Cooper will surely be shown the door this week. How can anyone tolerate that miserable face on the touchline when you are losing and bottom of the league. I'm no Forest lover but I was sort of hoping they would make a good go of it, simply because of the Clough glory years. It was like "they belong there, like Leeds" - certainly more than the likes of Bournemouth. But it just goes to show - throw money around without any real idea and you end up with a massive squad that doesn't fit together.
Dane has spent around 150 million pounds on transfers since promotion. He has spent more cash than some of the biggest teams in Europe like PSG and Barcelona. He thought Gibbs White was worth a deal worth around 42.5 million pounds. Forest are now bottom of the league after being thrashed by the previous bottom of the league. The signings he made have been awful. I can't blame the owner wanting to get rid of him for wasting his money on guys who will end up being sold at loses if they don't get better.
Dane is the CEO. He doesn’t pick the transfers. He may identify a few possibilities, but his job is to get the deals over the line within budget constraints set by the owner. Forest have a large complement of back-room staff, scouts and analysts, as well as Cooper and his team. It’s for them to come up with the names and data. I suspect, if Dane does go, it’s the owner using him as a scapegoat for the current failures. It’s not the first time he’s used this tactic!
The cameras picked him up last night sat in the stand looking as sick as a seaside donkey but I feel sure a look at his bank balance will put a smile back on his face .
He's signed 22 players. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. It's fair enough if you think those that got you promoted aren't good enough and want to show no loyalty to them, but make sure when you spend £150 million on nearly two dozen players that they are good. He looked like he knew the end was near.
For what it's worth, I think Cooper is a good manager and Dane is a good CEO. It's not usually wise to start the season with 25 new transfers, the existing squad get the ar5e and not all the new signings will gel or pan out.
I think it's been a scatter gun approach. Some decent signings. That said they haven't recruited anyone up front. Just wide players and link up men. Anonyi looks sheet.
Marinakis did all that. Murphy used as a scapegoat, as Cooper will be. Some of the things he says, I think he thinks he's near a God than human! Dont like people like this in football.
They appear to have more senior goalkeepers than they do strikers. One keeper is out on loan in Scotland, but they signed 3 new keepers in the summer, to go with the 3 they already had, and only let 1 leave on loan. Jordan Smith for example, has only played 3 league games for Forest, since we had him on loan 4 years ago.
Because it’s my understanding that in spite of Paul Conway’s wishes he pushed for us to achieve on the football pitch and presided over our highest finish in the 21st century. We certainly noticed the difference the season after.
I’ll not disagree with the latter........a think Mr P Conway royally fukd is up last season and Kahlid was brought in to a total **** show.......so you think if Dane was here now we’d be in the championship?
