I was at the check out last week behind someone with a box of eggs and a plasma cutter. A plasma cutter!! WTF do you even do with one of them? Break into bank vaults? Fight Empire stormtroopers? Only 80 euro though. I felt like I should go back and get one for that price.
Once went in and actually needed something that was between the frozen peas and the pizzas. I think it was a drill. I'd never heard of the brand though so Googled it in the shop, and the reviews suggested it as an absolute back of *****. I suspect most of the middle item stock is. Buy cheap, buy twice etc. I gave it a miss.
Dunno, I've a hammer drill I bought at Aldi for about £30 on moving into my first house 4 years ago. Still works fine. Could maybe do with a little more power, but I've had my money out of it several times over. Can't remember the name of the brand.
Aldi tools/ equiptment etc are mostly quality stuff. There’s usually workmen/ builders type folk in the queues buying on the days they first put them on sale
My father in law who's a serious engineer type especially boat fixing stuff, really rates the Parkside gear for the price. I always wonder though. To be honest if I had a workshop I'd probably have some of the stuff they sell.
One of my first jobs was programming the computer that ran the plasma cutter jobs for an engineering company in Attercliffe. The plasma cutter could cut mild steel upto 15 inches thick, I doubt the Lidl one can do that though.
