A company I used to work for has a contract with Greggs. Remember being told by their regional management that the most expensive part of their coffee is the cups!
Seems like they already have a store in Wakefield and they are independently owned. https://www.hiddenprettygifts.co.uk/
Am I right in thinking these are the units? HPG is K01? Dolly's SU16B? And urban burger SU1? Interestingly all three of those units are showing as available on the leasing map, not even with solicitors or anything, just available.
Yes that’s them. This will be their second store. All these announcements are independent traders. It’s to show the importance of mixing national and independent traders for a successful scheme.
What leasing map are you looking at? There are 5 units with solicitors/under offer on the recent map. SU16a SU1 SU1a K04 L2 I was under the impression SU1a was HPG, but the post from The Glassworks account seems to suggest that Urban Burgers are taking SU1 and SU1a, though that seems to be quite a bit unit. If they are then: SU1 & SU1a = Urban Burgers I thought K04 was Marshmallow Blends so it’s possible HPG could be taking a unit we didn’t know was under offer. I’m sure the leasing plan will be updated soon.
My bad I was looking at the leasing map on the glassworks site but was looking at SU11 not SU1 for urban burger and when I watched Dolly's desserts's video on tiktok I thought they were right next door to flannels, I didn't realise there was a unit between them so you're right it's SU16A not SU16B. Hidden pretty gifts announced the store opening with this image As you can see that's a unit opposite sports direct as from the angle it's taken at you can see new look across and then the fragrance shop back on this side (reflected twice) so the only unit I think it can be is K01 next to the market entrance. If my maths are right that means there's only 8 units left to let? Do you happen to know what the long term plan is for the 3 museums? Would they go to make way for more shops or are they permanent? Also what is remote storage?
Not sure if anyones bothered, I don’t think the Glassworks are as there announcements with new retailers and opening stores has been poor but Flannels is now open I’ve been in this morning. Not sure why Glassworks are failing so badly lately after a good start but stirs like this should be announced as a bare minimum
Also the urban burger unit is 2 units as stated earlier I walked past earlier and it’s quite a big size both doors open and no doves between units just one large space
I went for a walk around the glassworks last night. I wondered why they were cleaning the windows of flannels
Called in to Barnsley Town Centre t'day, wow what a great Town Centre it is too, Me an Wife just cant believe what a great job they've done, fantastic transformation, foookin love it, proud to be from Barnsley and the Barry Hines statue is Awesome.
All for it, for the greater good, and obviously a huge improvement. Just has nothing for me personally.
I felt like that going into Barnsley, used to pi ss me off, an to be honest i got to the stage where we used Cortonwood, nice shops, pleny of parking, but yesterday Barnsley looked appealing, inviting, granted could do with a few of the empty shops reopening, but it was clean and seemed to be vibrant, enjoyed the feel an the look, an we got some Potters steak pies an pork pies.
They’ve just started fitting it out I believe. There were people in there and fit out signs on the doors when I was in town last week. I doubt it’ll be open before Christmas, but I’ve no idea what the fit out timeline will be for it. It’s a big unit so I’d expect it to take about 3 months. They never said exactly when it would be opening, but always alluded to ‘this year’. Unfortunately, lots of things have been taking much longer than expected - TGI Fridays was meant to open in Spring and that’s only opening next month. I’m not aware of any other announcements just yet, sorry.
