Anybody read Gary Nevilles book, 'The people's game'? Heard it was good, more about how the modern game should change etc.

    Also any recommended footy reads?

    I've read.

    Keeper of Dreams
Andy Ritchie / Rick Holden one..
    Jumpers for goalposts
    Up Pohnpei
Don't call me Happy- John Hendrie

Enjoyed all those, looking for some more suggestions.

They did a book about our season in the Prem - it was a collection of the weekly column in The Times. Worth a read - want to say it was by Matt Dickinson but it's been a while since I read it

Alex Ferguson is a good one too

Just finished:Bean there done that: Graham Beans account of his time working with the FA compliance office and then setting up his own company fighting the cases of managers and players hauled up before the FA
Gives a good account of his battle with Barry Taylor
Decent read by a local lad originally from cudworth

Although not brilliantly written, the book about Robin Friday is something else.

I'd also recommend The Miracle of Castel di Sangro. Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Mark Hodkinson - Life at the Top. One of the better books concerning Tarn.

Gazzas is funniest for the pranks he got up to..
Neil Redfern for the Barnsley connection
Alex Ferguson has two books both worth reading. A working class manager who didn't forget his roots.
    Frank Worthington a real character
Darren Gough - OK if you like cricket stats
Dickie Bird - Not his own stories but reports on other cricketers pranks whilst he was umpiring.

Sir Stanley matthews - the way it was.

Brilliant read about the birth of the modern game. Also a great bloke who was probably one of the best, but he doesn’t think so…

Crouch' books are great, fully of funny stories and he's more than happy to laugh at himself.

The Football Man by Arthur Hopcraft - bit dated but a classic
The Far Corner by Harry Pearson - very funny book about football at all levels in the north east.

Both are good reads, and miles away from the celebrity ghosted bio and the 'and then we played Wolves in the semis and the ref was a shocker' etc etc..
