A better prognosis than some on here gave. I thought a return to training early in the new year was a possibility, might be a tad optimistic but you never know. It really must have been a strange incident given that he wasn't involved in any sort of collision. Take your time Luke, come back good and strong mate.
Although he wouldn’t get us lots of goals or assists he is for me our best player at running with the ball at his feet and can get beyond defenders with his pace and put the opposition on the back foot.
Its why I'm always curious when people say he'll never play for us again, when majority of times they do. A lot were saying it about Woodrow, then he ended up signing a new contract
Think we definitely missed him yesterday, he's a great ball carrier, gets us miles up the pitch, even if he doesn't always make the right decision afterwards. All the best, Luke!
Good luck to him with his recovery. Although I was okay with Aitchison being his replacement on Saturday, they have different qualities and I think we missed Luke’s qualities. I would guess Martin is the closest player we have to Thomas in regards to them carrying the ball at pace.
I think if Duff wants to keep the formation he should play Martin in that position, I thought he looked promising when he came on yesterday, although it was way too late to change the result. Hopefully he gets the chance to play there from the start on Tuesday.
I agree about Martin. He’s the obvious like for like replacement in that he’s a ball carrier. However, he looks a bit lightweight to me whereas Thomas takes some knocking off the ball. Reckon he has to be given a chance now though to avoid changing several players because of the absence of one. We’ve seen too much of that in recent years.
