    or acquitted in which case he can pick up his career.

    Ive no real knowledge of the case against him so I dont know if he has been wrongly accused or if he is guilty - just hope the court reaches the correct verdict when it comes to trial

    There's other accused rapists & murderers in the game already mate. Ronaldo for one, paid her compensation to keep her quiet but he's adored throughout the football world. Other footballers killing people via negligence i.e drink driving. If there's money to be made of Greenwood he'll stay in the game. The videos/audios from his case is sickening.

    He won't be touched ever again like Adam Johnson wasn't. Clubs won't risk the bother they would get from fans/media and sponsors they would lose.

    I just can't imagine what goes through his head. Firstly, I'm not justifying it for us 'normal' folk, just to get that out of the way - but why on earth would you risk everything? Multimillion as a teenager, quality striker playing for one of the biggest clubs in one of the biggest sports worldwide, playing for your country, supposedly one of the best young footballers in the world, good looking young lad. He could have had everything and anything - and he could have changed countless lives for the better. Idiocy

    Johnson was different. It was rape of a child. Paedophile. And as sickening as it sounds, he wasn't nearly as valuable an asset as Greenwood. I hope he never, ever has the chance to play professional football again by the way. I just agree with the comment above, questioning the morality of football. Footballers have killed people and they're still paid millions a year.

    Eventually this lad will weasel his way out of any real punishment or accountability. And it's vile.

    Adam Johnson was 33 when he was released - so no club would be going there because financially there's nothing in it for them. Same as Sigurdsson.

    Greenwood is still young enough to command a huge transfer fee should a club sign him after his punishment. He'll be back in the game imo.

    It is scandalous it takes so long. I know a young lad on a similar charge. I don’t believe for a second that this lad has done what he’s accused of, (unlike Greenwood I hasten to add). This lad has had an accusation (no charge) hanging over him for months. You just know that no-one is working on the case. Meanwhile his life is on hold due to what appears to be revenge by an ex.
    Obviously I can’t possibly know the truth for certain, but either way, these cases need speeding up.
