Anybody with Ovo? Been migrated over from SSE, what an absolute **** show. Account is telling me that I used £36 gas/elec yesterday which is about 4/5 days worth for us. On top of that direct debit changed from 230 to 360 a month but the recommended payment is 540. 540 British pounds, that's 200 more than my mortgage. Annual electric usage has been estimated at 3.5x more than my normal yearly average. Finishes work so gets on the phone, sorry we can only take payments. The system won't allow us to do anything for 2 week's for new customers are you looking to pay any of your outstanding balance, hell no I want to know what's going off. Sorry we can't tell you anything or do anything for 2 week's, well I can direct debit cancelled Absolutely disgusting what some of these energy companies are doing without question. Just wonder how many people are not questioning but just taking it for granted
Other way round Ian which is why they are now migrating everyone over. I can't be the only person to call today to query things, but to be told that they can only take payments and can't go into details as they don't have them yet is a joke
Ok. I used to be an SSE customer but their customer relations were dreadful. Absolutely impossible to get anywhere. I fortunately changed to Octopus and they are ok. So glad to be rid of SSE but I’ve heard that it’s now difficult to change as companies not taking on new customers due to the energy companies not really knowing what to do through this energy situation.
Been with them for years and never had any problems. I just send my meter readings in every month and get the bill to pay. Cant be bothered with a smart meter.
I’m also with Octopus, they’ve been pretty good to deal with and I’m saving a lot of money compared to what my old supplier is trying to charge.
Personally, I am not sure why everyone doesn't switch to Octopus, once the situation eases and the company, along with others, actually allows you to switch. They have been first class for us from the day we switched. Customer service is excellent. Web site is easy to navigate and understandable. Night and day compared to most of the big beasts. We switched 2.5 years ago specifically to move to their time of use tariff Octopus Go, which is the best ToU tariff on the market for EV drivers, albeit the rates are not as attractive as they once were. But another provider would have to offer a stupidly generous tariff now to persuade me to switch away from Octopus.
Yeah, fair enough. The latest rates show Bulb slightly cheaper, although I am fixed at lower rates than those currently on offer by each. However, switching to Bulb is not an option. They collapsed, are in public ownership until a buyer can be found, and the news appears to be that a deal is close for them to be taken over by - Octopus. https://amp.theguardian.com/busines...rgy-reportedly-closing-in-on-takeover-of-blub
Not sure where they have got the numbers from mate. My yearly average over the last 2 years on electric is 4090.5kwh. They have it down as 13998 for the year which is scandalous it's a 3 bedroom semi not a mansion lol. They have my total usage for Monday as 35 quid, logged on this morning and yesterday was just under 4 quid so something isn't right
Next step if I don't get anywhere mate, certainly won't be paying anywhere near what they are wanting me to
Fair dos if you’re fixed etc, but they are still taking switches. They’re operating exactly as normal. I did see the news re. Octopus. Be interesting to see what it does to tariffs. The EV rates have now tripled in the space of 12 months.
Yes been with them for years. Absolutely fantastic, account £1800 in credit and they pay 5% interest if you've been with them for 3+ years, can't fault it.
Been on their Facebook page this morning and it's filled with comments by people like me that have been switched over but having our dd increased without any reason. Also I wasn't given the choice of if i wanted to be transferred or find another supplier
